The tension,
The defenses,
The weight you've been carrying.
Whether it's the need to keep it all together,
To be strong or to push through exhaustion,
This is your moment to soften,
To be held just as you are.
You can sit or lie down,
Get comfortable and close your eyes.
Let your body begin to soften.
Take a deep breath in and out through your mouth.
Breathe out through your mouth.
Once more,
In.
Bring awareness to your body.
Notice any tension in your jaw,
Your shoulders,
Your chest.
Give yourself permission to soften.
Notice the rise and fall of your chest.
The coolness as you breathe in.
The warmth as you breathe out.
Each breath is a reminder.
You are here.
You are safe.
Inhale,
Creating space.
Exhale,
Releasing tension.
Feel the ground beneath you.
Let it support you.
You don't have to hold yourself up anymore.
Now,
Imagine you are standing at the edge of a quiet forest path.
You are wearing a heavy armor.
Chest plate,
Helmet,
Shield.
The shield of defensiveness.
The armor of always needing to be strong.
You place each one on the ground.
Do you feel the lightness return?
Feel the warmth of sunlight above you.
This is the place where healing begins.
Not through force,
But through relief.
You lay down what no longer serves you.
