Welcome.
The following verse meditation consists of a poem from my recently published collection entitled Beyond the Known Shore.
This poem is entitled.
Because the wind blows.
And it focuses on the wisdom and peace we can gain by sitting quietly in nature,
Observing,
Listening,
And immersing ourselves in the peace and comfort.
Of the natural world.
Because the wind blows wildly wicked,
You sit quietly listening.
To the swishing of the swaying trees.
Your eyes aren't able to see the place from which the wind arrives,
And so you sit and listen.
Because the trees dance gracefully,
And the arms of winds embrace.
You sit quietly watching.
As if every rustle is a fleeting thought.
Wordless and wild.
Invisible.
Where silence is as full as thunder.
That guides the tree's smooth rhythm.
It is the dance your ears can hear.
And so you watch and listen.
You feel the wind.
You see the trees.
As you watch the sky lean lower.
Cool and unhurried.
In the golden light.
The air is thick with meaning.
Relief and limb reflect sunlight.
And sing silent songs of longing.
And still,
The trees embrace the wind.
While your mind reflects its secrets.
The world is woven by love and hope.
A hush of wings.
A distant song.
And so,
You watch.
And listen.
