Hello and welcome to another meditation.
Today we will be moving through a guided meditation for honouring friend wounds that can come from either a friend walking away,
From you choosing to leave,
Or from the tender work of setting healthy boundaries and reminding you of how precious friendship truly is.
So find a quiet,
Comfortable spot for you to practice and feel free to keep a journal handy to capture any insights afterward.
So let's begin.
Whether someone left you,
Whether you chose to step away or you needed to say no to protect your heart,
Let the space be yours.
I see the care it takes to show up here.
So inhaling slowly,
Drawing in compassion and courage and exhale fully,
Releasing any guilt,
Shoulds or pressure around what happened.
Just take a couple of breaths here,
Setting the space for yourself and I would like you to sense where the hurt may sit,
Perhaps a tightness in your chest,
A lump in your throat or a flutter in your belly.
With each out breath,
Ease that spot,
Even if it is just a fraction and imagine a gentle glow around you,
An unshakable boundary of care that holds you safe as you explore these feelings and invite the part of you that felt pain in that friendship.
Tell yourself,
I invite the part of me that felt pain in that friendship to be seen,
To be heard,
To be held there.
And whether your story was,
They left me,
I had to leave or I stood my ground,
Just name it out loud in your mind.
This is the moment that's done,
Place your hand over your heart or gently rest both your hands in your lap and gently say to yourself,
You cared deeply,
That's a gift,
You did what you needed to do to protect your well-being and that matters,
You cared deeply,
That's a gift,
You did what you needed to do to protect your well-being and that matters,
Let your voice be steady,
Safe and kind.
Now silently or aloud,
Repeat to yourself,
Friendship is a treasure,
Woven from trust,
Laughter and shared moments,
I honour what was good even if it changed and visualise gathering the broken pieces of connection and weaving them back with threads of self-respect and clarity,
Threads that say,
I choose friends who see me,
Respect me and grow with me.
Feel free to whisper to yourself,
I can listen to my heart to know when to stay and when to step away,
I can set boundaries that protect and nourish and I want you to picture your heart like a well-tended garden,
Ready to welcome new healthy friendships that honour your worth and theirs.
Now let's inhale with confidence that you can navigate these choices with wisdom and exhale any lingering self-blame or regret.
Take a couple more breaths here and let's seal our practice today with this affirmation,
I honour the love I gave,
The wisdom I gained and the boundaries I set,
I welcome friendships that celebrate both my heart and my wholeness.
Let's take one last deep breath,
Breathing in through the nose and gently out the mouth.
Wiggle your fingers and your toes.
When you're ready,
Open your eyes,
Carrying forward the lessons,
The love and the gentle strength of healthy connection.
I hope you have a beautiful day,
Thank you for meditating with me.
