A reading (with soft background music) of a poem I wrote at the beginning of my midlife unraveling. When, seemly overnight, I woke up to a realization that I’d been chasing the wrong things and neglecting a deeper part of me and my dreams. Wherever you’re at, may it speak to your own desire to fulfill dreams you’ve put on hold, and give you the courage to answer your soul's calling. Backgroud music: Chris Collins

This is a poem I wrote and it's called For Now Just Breathe.

How often we hustle for things we love not and the heart's deepest desires are buried,

Long forgot.

We move through our moments,

Always a step ahead,

Mute to the echoed cries of dreams left for dead.

Until a day comes and the hollow cracks through,

Bringing a wash,

Sorrow,

And determination anew.

The fog blows in and rests much too near.

We wish for times past when life seemed more clear.

Call upon courage,

It's vital you'll see.

The gray will deliver you where you're meant to be.

Trust in greater than you,

Search heart over mind.

There in the stillness,

An answer you'll find.

Don't give up hope,

Expect no path of ease.

You're birthing new life,

For now just breathe.

Thank you sharing! This feels exactly like where I am at right now. Anxiety of the unknown even dreams are unknown. This spoke to me…just breathe. 🥰

I absolutely loved this! Thank you so much for sharing it. As someone who also uses Insight Timer as a platform to share my poems on, I am always excited to hear the poems of others in order to feel more connected and inspired and your poem definitely does both! I’m looking forward to hearing more of your poems! 🫶
