Rest beneath the waves of the mind. This Yoga Nidra practice is inspired by Yoga Sutra 1.2: Yogaś citta-vṛtti-nirodhaḥ Yoga is the stilling of the movements of the mind. Yoga is not about fighting the mind or forcing every thought to disappear. The mind moves in waves — thoughts, emotions, memories, worries, plans, and stories. But beneath those waves, there is a quieter depth within. In this deeply restful practice, you will be guided to soften the body, settle the breath, and observe the movements of the mind without resistance. You do not need to create stillness by force. You are invited to rest, listen, and allow the waves to naturally soften. This practice is for anyone feeling mentally busy, restless, overwhelmed, or caught in overthinking. You are also warmly invited to join the Living the Yoga Sutras group on Insight Timer to explore the sutras, share reflections, ask questions, and access related practices.
