Welcome to this guided integration practice on people pleasing and returning to yourself.
This practice is for those moments when you notice yourself saying yes too quickly or hiding your truth or trying to keep everyone else comfortable while losing touch with your own needs.
And together we will gently explore what it feels like to pause.
To listen inwardly and to practice honest kindness.
The ability to care for others without disappearing from yourself.
Get into a comfortable position.
Allow the body to settle.
And give yourself permission to return to your own center.
Gently allow the eyes to close.
And bring your attention to your breath.
Let the breath be natural.
Let the body soften.
The shoulders relaxing.
The jaw relaxing.
The Hands Resting.
Feel the support beneath you.
And allow yourself to arrive here.
And now imagine yourself standing in a quiet room.
A quiet doom.
This room represents your inner life.
Your truth your needs.
Your preferences.
Your limits.
Your voice.
For a long time.
You may have stepped out of this room.
Whenever someone else needed something.
You may have left your own center.
To manage someone else's comfort.
You may have placed your needs aside.
To preserve peace.
You may have hidden your truth.
To the main acceptable.
No judgement.
Only compassion.
That pattern,
It may have protected you once.
It may have helped you belong.
It may have helped you feel safe.
It may have helped you avoid conflict.
But now.
Gently Imagine Returning to the room of yourself.
Step back into your own inner space.
Feel the ground beneath your feet.
Feel the breath in your body.
Feel your own presence.
And gently bring to mind a familiar people-pleasing situation.
A request,
A conversation.
A moment when you said yes to quickly.
A moment when you held what you felt.
A moment when you became responsible for someone else's comfort.
Bring that situation to mind.
See the situation gently.
Not to the level.
Just to understand.
Notice the familiar urge.
The urge to agree,
To explain,
To fix,
To soften your truth,
To avoid disappointment,
To be easy.
Now pause.
Take one for that.
And silently ask.
What is true for me?
What is true for me,
Not what will keep everyone comfortable.
Not what answer will make me like,
Not what will prevent guilt,
But what is true for me.
Let the answer arise gently.
What is true for me?
Perhaps the truth is I do not have capacity.
I need rest.
I have a different preference.
I feel uncomfortable.
I need time.
I do not want to take this on.
Now place a hand gently over your heart.
Or simply imagine doing so.
And C.
My truth?
Is allowed to exist.
My drug.
Is allowed to exist.
Now imagine the other person in front of you.
Someone you care about.
Someone you may not want to disappoint.
And instead of abandoning yourself.
Imagine speaking with honest kindness.
Calmly.
Simply,
Clearly.
Perhaps you see.
I care about you.
And I am not able to do this.
Oh,
I understand and I need time before I answer.
All I want to be honest,
I do have a different preference.
Or I can support you in this way but I cannot take on the whole thing.
Imagine speaking with honest kindness.
Notice that your voice does not need to be harsh.
Notice that your body may still feel discomfort.
And yet.
.
.
You're the main present.
You remain connected to yourself.
Now imagine any emotion like guilt appearing.
Let it appear gently.
Let it appear.
And C.
Guild.
May be present.
But guilt.
.
.
Does not need to choose for me.
Guilt may be present but guilt does not need to choose for me.
Now imagine the part of you that has tried so hard to please.
The part that feared rejection,
The part that wanted peace,
The part that tried to be good.
Can you meet that part with compassion?
Can you meet?
That part with compassion.
Silently say.
Thank you for protecting me.
You helped me survive.
And now we are learning a more honest way.
We do not have to disappear to be loved.
Stay come for that.
And now imagine yourself returning more fully to your own center.
Not separate from others.
Not closed,
Not uncaring,
But present,
Present within yourself.
Kindness it means.
Care the means.
Love the means.
But now truth is present too.
Now repeat silently.
I can be kind and honest.
I can be kind and honest.
I can care.
Without disappearing.
I can belong.
To myself.
Let those words settle into the body.
Small,
Honest moments.
Small returns to yourself.
Small acts of self-respect.
This is how the patterns begin to change.
Now slowly bring your awareness back to your breath.
Back to the body.
Back to the support beneath you.
Become aware of the area around you.
Any sounds around you.
And when you are ready.
Gently open your eyes.
And little.
And take a moment to notice yourself here.
You do not need to abandon your truth in order to be kind.
You do not need to disappear in order to belong.
May you move forward with honest kindness,
Caring for others while staying connected to yourself.
And when Venevo you notice the old pattern returning.
Gently the Memo.
I can be kind and honest.
I can care without disappearing.
I can belong to myself.
Thank you for listening.
Namaste.
