Beloved,
Will you come to rest here a while?
Wherever you find yourself,
Settle in and let go of the day so far.
Let it fall away,
Each worry and care falling like water from the tips of your fingers.
Let the weight you carry so discreetly fall from your shoulders and tumble to the ground.
Don't worry.
If you need them,
You know where they are and what can be done with them to perhaps carry them with greater ease.
For now,
Consider what weighs you down and let that go.
Be purposeful in your unburdening.
You carry so much,
So many responsibilities.
Do you feel them holding you down,
Perhaps sucking away your breath?
Can you feel it,
Dear one?
Not all of this needs to be carried.
Ask your heart what you can let go of.
What permission do you need,
Beloved,
To perhaps carry this differently?
Spend time acknowledging all you hold and show appreciation for the hard-working parts of you that have helped you in this heap of must-do's and should-be's and have-to's.
I know it's been hard.
I know it's been a lot.
As you let go of some of what you've been holding,
Notice what comes up.
Maybe a greater ease in your body.
Perhaps a gnawing of loss in your belly.
Be with this.
Simply notice with curiosity and compassion.
Taking in any shifts or changes as you hold this moment with a lightness.
Notice any judgment or attachment.
Gently let that go.
Let that fall away.
And with a nourishing inhale,
Consider here what love says to you.
What does love want to tell you?
Just listen with open attunement.
You may notice a thinker part of you that dismisses where love would like to lead.
With a big inhale,
Breathe in more compassion.
And with your exhale,
Let go of anything that's blocking you.
There is no way of doing this either right or wrong.
Your role is simply to be.
For once in this precious sliver of time,
You get to relish being.
Cherishing every nourishing breath,
Every trustworthy beat of your heart,
All that is and all that love freely gives to you.
Take in love in your next inhale.
Picture it filling you up like water poured into an empty vessel.
Feel love fill you.
Feel it in your face,
In the softening of your jaw,
Maybe a small smile at the corners of your mouth.
Feel it in your shoulders and your arms.
Feel it seep into your chest,
Into your heart,
Diving even the darkest recesses of you.
Feel it in your belly like rain in a parched landscape.
Feel love enter your pelvis,
Your thighs,
And slowly down to your toes.
And as you're filled with love,
Feel any sensations that arise.
Notice your emotions,
Your mood.
Keep breathing in love.
And when you're ready,
Ask love what it wants to relieve you of.
Something that you've been carrying all on your own and that you don't need to hold on to any longer.
Be with whatever you notice and trust that in this moment,
This mysterious encounter is just as it needs to be.
With cupped hands,
Give over to love what love is asking to carry or take from you.
Breathing in compassionately,
Letting go of any fear and be with what you notice here.
This might feel hard or perhaps surprising or relieving.
Be with what is right here,
Right now.
And if it feels inviting for you,
Put a loving hand on your chest or on your belly or both and hold yourself in this space.
Perhaps love has more to say to you.
Ask any question or say anything that comes to mind.
Love is here in this moment just for you.
Let love lead,
Dear one.
As you continue to be in this tender moment,
Ask love what gifts love has for you.
Maybe you see a picture,
Get a word or a phrase or you feel something in your body.
Just allow this and acknowledge this gift love has given you.
Simply savor this moment.
Ask what love wants you to do with this gift.
Just listen.
Breathing naturally and with ease,
Acknowledge what's been valuable from this experience.
Thank yourself for staying.
Thank love for leading you closer to the truth of who you are.
Stay here as long as you like.
And when you've gathered up all the goodness from this moment,
Take three nice,
Nourishing breaths and open your eyes and let love lead you wherever you may go.
