Find a comfortable way to be,
Either sitting or lying down.
Let your hands rest gently in your lap or at your sides.
And if it feels good,
Place one hand on your heart and one on your belly.
Gently close your eyes or soften your gaze.
Let's begin.
Inhale deeply through your nose,
Filling your body with fresh,
Calming energy.
Exhale slowly out your mouth,
Letting go of tension,
Thought,
And expectation.
Inhale again,
Feel your belly rise,
Feel your chest expand.
Exhale gently,
Let your shoulders soften and any tension in your neck release.
One more deep breath in.
Hold for a moment at the top.
And slowly breathe out,
Feeling your body grow heavier and more supported beneath you.
Now return to your natural breath.
Let it move in and out softly,
Easily.
Bring your attention to the crown of your head.
And soften your forehead.
Unfurl your brow.
Feel your eyes sink gently inward and release the space between your eyebrows.
Relax your cheeks.
Unclench your jaw.
Now feel your neck lengthen.
Your shoulders drop down and back.
As you scan down your arms,
Notice any tightness.
Breathe into it and allow it to melt away.
Feel your hands,
Fingers relaxed.
Now notice your chest,
Rising,
Falling.
Let your heart feel held.
Soften your belly.
Let it rise without effort and fall without worry.
Feel your hips,
Your legs resting beneath you,
Heavy and grounded.
Bring awareness to your feet,
Toes relaxed,
Connected to the earth beneath you.
Invite a soft whisper or quiet repetition,
I am safe to let go.
I am supported in stillness.
Picture yourself standing under a warm shower of golden light.
Each droplet washes away the energy of the day,
The thoughts,
The worries,
The mental to-do list.
Feel it rinse your shoulders,
Your back,
Your hands,
Down your legs,
And into the earth.
Let it all be released.
Let it all be softened.
