Congratulations,
You made it through the day,
But now it's time to release.
This is your permission to stop holding it all together.
There's nowhere to be,
Nothing to do.
Just come home to yourself.
Settle into the most comfortable position you can.
Maybe that's lying down or resting in a big comfy chair,
Maybe wrapped up in a soft blanket.
Gently close your eyes or soften your gaze and allow your body to start to sink into the support beneath you.
Feel your back,
Your legs,
Your head,
Held,
Supported,
Safe to soften.
Take a slow breath in through your nose and sigh it out through your mouth.
Let your shoulders melt away from your ears.
Again,
Inhale gently and exhale with a sound if that feels right,
And let go a little more.
Start to bring your awareness to your forehead,
Softening,
Your jaw,
Releasing,
Unclenching,
Your shoulders,
Heavy,
Your belly,
Soft.
Hips,
Heavy and grounded,
Your legs,
Sinking into stillness.
Focus on noticing what's ready to let go,
Rather than forcing relaxation.
If you notice tension or restlessness,
That's okay.
Simply bring awareness to that part of you and acknowledge it's okay to feel this.
If your thoughts are racing,
Begin to imagine them floating by like leaves on water.
There's no need to follow,
Keep track,
Or manage them.
It's okay to rest,
To be still,
To sink into this moment.
Whisper gently to yourself,
It's safe to rest.
I've done enough.
My mind is allowed to be still.
Let's take one more deep breath together.
Inhale and exhale slowly.
Let this breath be the signal,
The day is done,
I return to calm.
You can stay here as long as you like,
Drifting,
Floating,
Being.
You don't need to do rest,
You just need to be.
Good night.
