Visualization techniques are powerful tools when we are trying to achieve our goals. This visualization meditation will help you visualize what you want to create in your life and create a feeling state around it. Once you have the feeling state, you can use that as your guide when you are making decisions about which direction to go in. Don't forget to leave a comment and follow me for more offerings.

Hey there,

This is Lori James,

Author and transformative coach.

I wanted to walk you through a visualization meditation.

This is a great visualization process to help you visualize what it is that you want to create in your life and begin to see it in your mind's eye.

Because when we can visualize it,

We can believe it.

And when we believe it,

We can create it.

That's a quote from Muhammad Ali.

So let's just start by getting in a comfortable position.

You can be sitting up on a meditation cushion,

Maybe you're lying down or you're sitting at your desk or couch,

Whatever works best for you and is most comfortable.

And once you're in a comfortable place,

I'd like for you to just take a couple of big deep breaths in and out.

Let's do that a couple more times.

Breathing in and out.

Just kind of clear the chatter in your head a little bit.

Clear the thoughts of the day away.

So you can really tap into this visualization meditation.

And once you're settled in and feeling grounded in this visualization meditation and you're ready to start,

I'd like for you to just think about where you'd like to be at some point in the future.

Think about maybe three years or five years out.

And I'd really love for you to visualize that in your mind's eye and just allow whatever it is to come up for you.

And just notice what comes in first.

Maybe you are looking to create a new business or take all of your knowledge and start a new job or retire.

Whatever that is for you,

Whatever your goals are,

Just visualize yourself in the moment three,

Five,

Maybe even 10 years out.

And get a really good picture of where exactly you are,

Where are you sitting,

What do you see around you,

What pictures are on the wall,

What maybe awards are sitting on your bookshelf,

What books are on your bookshelf,

And what does this feel like when you're in this place.

Throughout this visualization,

I really want you to tap into the feeling state because again,

When we can visualize it and then also feel it in our bodies,

It helps us get that much closer to what it is that we want to create for ourselves.

So let's go back into this moment in time,

In the future.

What do you smell?

Do you smell coffee brewing?

Maybe you just had some lunch,

So there's lingering smells from your lunch.

And just notice,

Or maybe you smell the pine trees because you're out in nature in this moment.

Whatever that is for you,

Just let it come up and see if you can actually smell those smells.

What is it that you're wearing?

How does that feel on your skin?

Are you comfortable?

Are you dressed up?

Are you in jeans and shorts and a t-shirt?

Whatever comes up for you is what's meant to be.

What do you hear wherever it is that you are?

Just notice the noises.

Maybe it's silence.

Maybe it's noises of pitter-patter of little feet,

Whether it's your own children or your grandchildren.

Or maybe it's the noises of your busy office,

Of the business you've created for yourself.

Or the job that you've always wanted and the busyness of your coworkers.

And again,

Tap into how those sounds make you feel in that moment.

Do they energize you or relax you?

And just soak this in for a minute.

And as you're in your future self,

Can you take a moment to reflect on all that you have done to get to this point and have gratitude for the work that you have done to get to this point in your life?

And just notice that reflection,

Hard work,

And gratitude.

What does that feel like for you?

Where do you feel it in your body?

Does it feel expansive or restrictive?

There's no right or wrong answer.

Just notice what you notice in this moment.

And as you are taking all this in,

This ideal life that you have created for yourself,

Again,

Notice how that feels in your body.

Where you feel it,

How it feels.

And as you move towards this visualization outside of this meditation,

I'd love for you to remember the feeling state that you're wanting to create for yourself.

And let that feeling state that you want to create be your guide as you move towards your vision and your goals.

So when you're at a crossroads and you're making a decision between path A and path B,

Take a moment and check in with your body as you're making these decisions.

And is this a similar feeling state and whichever registers higher on that feeling state is the direction that you should go in.

So let's just take a moment and bring ourselves back to our meditation.

And just before we wrap up,

Just take a moment and see if anything else for you pops up.

Any other details,

Any other thoughts,

Any other feelings that might come into play here.

And if something does take note of that and if it doesn't,

That's okay too.

Again there's no right or wrong in this process.

We are just tapping into our intuitive state and the intuitive feeling that we want to create in our lives.

Just going to give you one more minute here to sit with your visualization before we bring this to a close.

When you're ready,

Just take a moment to rub your hands on top of your legs and come back into your body.

Maybe slowly blink your eyes open and take a moment before you move on to the rest of your day or to your evening and just make a blueprint of that feeling state.

And as you move out of this moment and into the rest of the day and days and months and weeks and years ahead,

Take that feeling state with you and let that be your guide.

I've heard this phrase many times by famous psychologists and the quote is something along the lines of,

We are feeling beings who think.

So take that and remember that as you continue to move on to feel what it is that you want to create for yourself and not just think about what it is that you want to create for yourself.
