Let's begin our day with a little bit of happy talk and meditation in this short yet impactful podcast designed to infuse a little bit of positivity into each moment of every day.
Let's get in the flow.
So my friend,
Because I gotta give full,
You know,
Disclosure,
My friend posted something on Facebook yesterday that I just so resonated with and I thought,
You know what,
That's what I need to talk about today because it's so important for all of us to consider,
Right?
This is the point.
Would you,
Okay,
You know that little voice in your head that tells you it's judgy,
Right,
Of you and everybody else,
Right,
Of ourselves,
I should say,
And everybody else,
Right,
That little voice in our heads that's like,
Ooh,
You have a zit today or,
Or,
Oh my god,
Look at her hair or,
You know,
Whatever,
Whatever,
Right?
That little voice,
That little judgy voice that we,
That we deal with every day,
All day,
Every day,
Right?
Is it?
Here's the question,
The question is this,
That voice in your head,
The way it speaks to you,
Would you speak to a friend in that same tone of voice,
Right?
Would you,
Would you speak to your,
Would you speak to your friends the way that that voice speaks to you?
And I was like,
Whoa,
We are so judgmental of ourselves.
I mean,
We are so judgmental of everything that we do and everything that we are.
It's terrible,
Right?
The trick to it all is overcoming those judgmental thoughts,
You know?
I mean,
There's no,
No choice in the matter,
Right?
We have judgmental thoughts of ourselves,
Right?
That little voice in our heads is judging us all the time.
So yeah,
We judge ourselves all the time.
The question is,
Can we take those thoughts and make them into something more empowering for ourselves,
Right?
So when we say to ourselves,
When we look at ourselves in the mirror and go,
Oh my god,
I've got a zit,
Can you say,
But it'll be gone in a couple days?
Or do you say,
Oh my god,
I can't go out today?
Like what,
What do you say to yourself when in those moments?
And I can't believe I just used that,
That example,
But you know,
I mean,
It's the perfect example though,
If you think about it,
You know,
How do you frame those thoughts?
That is what determines how you go about the rest of your day,
Right?
So changing those thoughts into something more constructive and more positive,
You know,
Just like shifting it into the positivity of it,
You know,
Because like I say,
If we can,
We have a choice,
We can say to ourselves,
Oh my gosh,
Well it'll be gone in a day.
Or we can say to ourselves,
I'm never going out again,
Right?
What do you choose?
How do you choose?
Staying positive,
Framing it in a positive way is everything,
You know,
About ourselves.
It's how we look at ourselves,
It's how we,
All throughout our day,
It's how conversations become framed.
I know that sounds really dramatic,
But it's true,
You know.
So if we start out our day,
You know,
Looking at the zit and saying to ourselves,
It'll be gone in a day,
You can go about the rest of your day and feel sort of in that positive way,
You know.
Like you can say,
You'll say other,
Like when other things come at you,
You will say to yourself,
It's okay,
You know.
So that's what we're gonna,
That's what we need to overcome today.
Let's think about our thoughts.
What do your thoughts tell you,
Right?
And honestly,
Would you say them to your friends?
Would you say to your friends,
Oh my god,
You have a huge zit,
It looks terrible,
Stay in today.
Or would you say,
Don't worry about that,
It'll be gone in a day,
You know.
We're,
We would say the latter to our friends,
Right,
Don't worry about it,
It'll be gone in a day,
Right.
But we say to ourselves,
A lot of times,
We say to ourselves,
Oh my god,
Stay in,
Right.
So it's all about the framing,
Right.
It's all about choosing the positive,
The positivity of everything,
Right.
This morning,
I woke up and I went into the bathroom,
I don't even think I thought anything,
But I looked at myself in the mirror and I smiled,
You know.
And I smiled,
I don't remember anything that I was thinking,
But I looked in the mirror and I went,
Because that's what I try to do for myself.
I can't think too much,
Thinking first thing in the morning is a little dicey for me sometimes,
But,
But when I smiled,
I instantly got the,
I instantly got the,
The,
Oh the warm fuzzies,
Like,
Hi,
Like,
Oh my god,
I'm okay,
I'm happy,
Right.
So we have choices.
I could have looked at myself in the mirror and went,
Ooh,
Which happens,
I mean,
We all do that,
Right.
You look at yourself in the mirror and you go,
Oh goodness,
Right.
It's how,
It's all in how we choose to frame it,
Right.
So I invite you to start your day out,
Or right now,
Or continue on with your day,
Going and looking in the mirror and smiling.
See what that does to you,
You know.
You know,
Louise Hay talks about,
You know,
She does all these affirmations and,
You know,
Honestly,
I don't know if she actually talks about mirror work,
But I'm sure she did,
I mean,
Because she was like the queen of it all,
Right.
But going and looking in the mirror,
And I know I've talked about this before,
Because it's so important to do,
Say to yourself,
Look at,
You look at yourself in the mirror and say,
I love you.
Whoa.
I mean,
It can be,
It can be incredible.
It can be,
It can make you emotional.
It can,
It can create so much for you in your life to learn how to say I love you to yourself,
Right.
So getting rid of that judgy thing,
That judgy voice,
It's always gonna be there.
I shouldn't say getting rid of it,
Because it's always gonna be there.
But learning how to frame it separately,
And knowing how to take tools in our toolbox,
Like affirmations,
You know,
And create something new for yourself.
That is so,
So important.
So we're gonna meditate on this today,
Right.
Of course,
We're gonna send this stillness just for a few minutes,
And you're gonna,
You're just gonna,
This is gonna be good,
Right.
This has the,
This has the potential to be quite powerful,
Right.
So let's,
Let's get rolling on this,
Right.
Okay,
So let's get ourselves comfortable.
Louise Hay had a mirror course.
She had a whole course,
And of course she did,
Right.
I mean because she's Louise Hay.
I mean,
Oh God,
To have met that woman,
Oh that would have just,
Whatever.
Anyway,
So yeah,
Right.
She's up there looking down at us.
Her and Wayne Dyer are looking down at us going,
You go guys.
I love it.
So okay,
So let's get ourselves comfortable.
Sit however it,
It works for you.
Close your eyes,
And let's start out by taking a nice deep breath in,
And release it.
Perfect.
Very good.
So as we get ready to sit in that stillness for just a minute,
Let's start out our day.
What are you grateful for today?
What,
What things are in your life that you feel gratitude for,
That you feel gratitude about?
What is working in your life?
There could be so much,
And again,
It's about the framing sometimes,
You know.
Very good.
It's so important to start off our day in that positive way,
Just by maybe thinking of just a few things that you're grateful for.
So our,
Well it's not really a mantra,
It's an affirmation for today.
We are gonna do this.
I invite you to take this on,
Saying I love you to yourself as we sit in the stillness for just a few minutes.
I love you,
And you're talking to yourself.
Some of you may,
It may be perfectly easy to do.
For some it may be a little challenging,
And for some it may start off easy to do,
And then all of a sudden it becomes real,
Right?
But I invite you to take this on.
What are we if we're not works in progress,
Right?
So I will keep the time,
And let's begin.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
Let's start bringing our awareness back to the chair we're sitting in.
You can release the mantra or the affirmation,
And let's take a nice deep breath in because we may have felt a lot of emotions there.
So let's take a nice deep breath in and release.
Open your eyes whenever you feel comfortable,
And I hope that that was as impactful for you as it was for me.
Saying I love you is one of the most important things that you can do for yourself,
Right?
And using it as a mantra or an affirmation during meditation can be life changing.
It can be so impactful.
It can be so impactful.
It can be so impactful.
It can be so impactful.
So I invite you to start your day out.
Whatever day that is,
Tomorrow,
Yesterday,
Whatever.
I invite you to take that on.
The challenge of loving ourselves.
So from my heart to yours,
Namaste.
