Let's begin our day with a little bit of happy talk and meditation in this short yet impactful podcast designed to infuse a little bit of positivity into each moment of every day.
Let's get in the flow.
What are you searching for?
Do you know?
Very interesting question,
Isn't it?
So I have been researching just like the ancient spiritual teachers.
I shouldn't say just,
Of course,
The ancient spiritual teachers,
Right?
I've been sort of studying them and I've been studying them for a long time actually,
But there's a project in the works,
So whatever.
The bottom line is this,
These last couple of days I'm having this sort of epiphany that even though these ancient spiritual teachers lived thousands of years ago,
The teachings are so relevant.
Now obviously,
I mean,
This is like sort of obvious,
But when you really consider what some of these spiritual teachers were teaching and our life today,
It's so amazing.
So let me just give you a couple of examples.
So the Bhagavad Gita,
It's an amazing,
Amazing story,
Right?
It was written between 400 BCE and 200 CE,
Right?
And this is one of the verses.
Now this is one of the translations,
So there's lots of translations of it,
But here's one of the translations.
Wipe yourself by the power of your will.
Never let yourself be degraded by self will.
The will is the only friend of the self and the will is the only enemy of the self.
Yeah,
So let's just,
You know,
For a morning,
Let's just jump right into that,
Right?
It's really amazing to think that the power of the mind and our thoughts create our life has been being taught for thousands of years,
Right?
Now if you consider Patanjali who gave us yoga,
Gave us the yoga sutras,
And I don't just mean the poses,
I mean the whole thing of yoga,
Right?
One of the main principles of it is meditation.
Again,
The power of quieting your mind.
It's all about creating a quieter mind for ourselves.
And it's amazing to think that thousands of years ago,
People still needed to quiet their mind,
Right?
So here we are in 2021 needing to quiet our minds because life gets crazy,
You know?
And then you think of the spiritual teachers now,
Right?
So then we've got Ram Dass teaching us to be present,
Be here now.
So we've got Ram Dass teaching us that.
And then we've got certainly Wayne Dyer.
I love this quote,
Oh my gosh,
Be miserable or motivate yourself.
Whatever has to be done,
It's always your choice.
Oh my God,
I mean really?
It's our choice.
And the teachers,
The spiritual teachers of our time teach the same basic principles just in sort of modern speak.
So the bottom line to the whole thing is be present,
Be here now,
And quiet your mind.
It's just so fascinating because all these spiritual teachers are trying to get the sort of the word out,
You know,
To live in the present.
It's really all about living in the present and the power of our minds.
Thich Nhat Hanh,
Mindfulness allows you to live deeply every moment that is given for you to live.
I mean the whole thing of mindfulness is freaking amazing.
So that's what we are meditating on today because it's,
I don't know,
It was a mind opening thing for me that for many,
Many centuries now we have been in the process of trying to learn how to quiet our minds.
So what is the answer?
To me,
That they've been teaching us for thousands of years is meditation.
It starts with that.
I mean,
You know,
Patanjali,
Of course,
Thousands of years ago talking about meditation and the Paramahansa Yogananda,
Kriya Yoga.
That's what that is.
It's amazing.
So that's what we're meditating on today.
Meditating on the be here now,
Being in the present moment,
And quieting our minds.
So let's get ourselves comfortable.
Oh my gosh.
So let's take a nice deep breath in and release.
Close your eyes,
Get yourself comfortable and relaxed.
Let's ask ourselves,
What are you grateful for today?
What are we grateful for?
What is going really great in your life that brings you joy and makes you happy?
What are you grateful for today?
It could be anything.
And that's what I love.
And I know I say this a lot,
But that's what I love.
It's so personal.
Some could be grateful for their family.
Some could simply be grateful for the trees outside.
So our mantra for today is one of my favorites.
Sat-Chit-Ananda.
And what that means,
Truth,
Consciousness,
Bliss.
And for me,
What that means is when we get down to the truth of the matter and we recognize it and we bring it into our consciousness,
That is bliss.
Ah,
Beautiful.
Sat-Chit-Ananda.
So I will keep the time and let's begin.
Sat-Chit-Ananda.
Sat-Chit-Ananda.
Sat-Chit-Ananda.
Sat-Chit-Ananda.
Sat-Chit-Ananda.
Sat-Chit-Ananda.
Sat-Chit-Ananda.
Sat-Chit-Ananda.
Sat-Chit-Ananda.
Sat-Chit-Ananda.
Sat-Chit-Ananda.
Sat-Chit-Ananda.
Sat-Chit-Ananda.
Sat-Chit-Ananda.
Sat-Chit-Ananda.
Sat-Chit-Ananda.
Sat-Chit-Ananda.
Sat-Chit-Ananda.
Truth.
Consciousness.
Bliss.
We can start bringing the awareness back to the room that we're sitting in.
Beautiful.
Beautiful.
Let's take a nice deep breath in.
And gently release.
Perfect.
I invite you to go throughout your day living in the present moment.
And knowing truth,
Consciousness,
And bliss.
My love to you all.
Thanks so much for joining.
Namaste.
