Welcome to In the Flow,
A positivity-provoking podcast designed to lift us up to that higher place to live our best lives.
We will laugh,
Cry,
Meditate,
And discuss any and all things spiritual to learn and remove any stigma surrounding spiritual gifts,
Meditation,
Prayer,
And the afterlife.
Hello.
Today we are talking about the root chakra.
So what I think I'm going to do is over the next seven days,
We are going to discuss one chakra at a time so that we understand exactly what the root chakra is for today,
What the chakras are,
How they are,
Why we should focus on them,
How to focus on them.
I love dealing with or talking about the chakras because they are the energy centers of the body.
And what's so fascinating about it is,
Is that when I first started learning about the chakras like years ago,
I was like,
Oh great,
They're the energy centers of the body,
Blah,
Blah,
Blah.
But then I started realizing how connected the chakra system is with like everything else.
And it's amazing.
It's absolutely amazing to think that all of it interconnects with everything else.
And when I say that,
I mean with all the different aspects of spirituality,
With all the ancient religions and the texts.
Oh my gosh.
It's absolutely amazing.
So what we're going to do,
We're going to talk today about the root chakra.
So today,
The root chakra,
I've declared it root chakra day.
You know,
There's all these international day of whatever.
Today I declare that today is the international day of the root chakra.
So the root chakra,
What is the root chakra?
The root chakra is at the base of the spine and it is about the connection,
Excuse me,
The connection to earth,
To mother earth.
The grounding,
If you've ever heard of the term grounding,
That is what helps to build up the root chakra.
It's called the muladhara and the frequency,
This is actually really cool too.
The frequency of the root chakra is 396 Hertz.
That particular tone is the actual vibrational tone of the earth,
Which is so cool,
Right?
It's so cool because like I was saying,
It's all like interconnected.
The color associated with the root chakra is red.
In order to keep the root chakra active,
Or maybe if you feel like that you're a little in the sky,
You feel a little airy,
That sort of thing,
Maybe you want to work on your root chakra a little bit.
So what you can do is you can wear red clothes.
You can eat red food.
You can burn a red candle,
Which is my favorite thing.
Burn a red candle,
Do all those sorts of things.
Anything associated with the color red,
Which is such a fantastic way to sort of activate and be and have your root chakra be activated.
The symbol attached to the root chakra is LAM.
That is going to be our mantra for the day.
And what I'm going to do,
This is so cool,
I'm going to play the Shruti box and we are going to chant the term LAM.
Now here's the deal.
It's about the vibration.
It's not about the getting it right and saying LAM just a certain way and all of that.
It's about the vibration.
So here's the deal.
You could,
If you're not comfortable,
You could just listen to me.
You can listen to me chant it.
It's absolutely fine.
You can hum it if you want.
You can chant it with me if you want.
Whatever works for you.
That's the whole thing.
That is the beauty of it.
One other term or thing about the root chakra that I want to explain as well is grounding is basically what I want to talk about.
Grounding is how we keep connected to Mother Earth.
Like I was saying before,
If you feel a little bit airy or if you feel like you're just kind of like in the clouds or whatever,
You might need grounding.
Now how to ground?
What you do is you connect yourself to the ground and bring up that beautiful Mother Earth energy.
Right?
How do you do that?
Well,
One of the ways you can do it is you can imagine in meditation,
You can put your feet flat on the floor,
You can imagine roots growing out from the bottom of your feet,
Which I know sounds crazy,
But it actually is pretty awesome.
So you imagine roots growing out from the bottom of your feet,
Going deep,
Deep,
Deep,
Deep down into the earth.
And then,
Because what do roots grow?
Roots bring in the energy from Mother Earth.
So that,
And then you imagine all that beautiful energy coming into your body.
So I love that.
That is like when I have to ground,
I mean there are lots of ways to ground.
You can go outside and take your shoes off and stomp your feet on the grass and that can help you ground as well.
But my favorite thing is because I meditate so much,
My favorite thing to do in terms of that is I like to,
I like to imagine the roots.
Connecting me to Mother Earth.
I love,
Love,
Love that.
So okay,
So let's get ourselves ready for this really cool meditation.
So let's get ourselves still.
And now let's take a nice deep breath in through your nose and release.
Perfect.
Taking that deep breath in and getting ourselves ready for stillness.
So our mantra for the day is LAM.
And I'm going to play the G note and we will just enjoy.
You can just listen to it and just feel the vibration of the root chakra.
LAM LAM LAM LAM LAM LAM LAM LAM LAM LAM LAM LAM LAM LAM LAM LAM LAM LAM LAM LAM LAM LAM LAM LAM LAM LAM LAM LAM LAM LAM Let's start bringing our awareness back to our bodies.
Take a nice deep breath in and release it.
You can open your eyes whenever you feel comfortable.
How awesome is that?
I hope you guys feel that as much as I do.
Oh my gosh.
Absolutely amazing.
The purpose of that was to feel the vibration.
And I hope you guys felt that because connecting with Mother Earth is so important and beautiful and absolutely amazing.
So,
Thank you for joining today.
I appreciate each and every one of you.
From my heart to yours.
Namaste.
