Poem: Listen

A gentle offering from my poetry book, In Rooms of Truth — containing poems, art, prayers and permission slips on the alchemical journey of living and dying awake. This poem is part of a collection written specifically for moments when you think you might be ready to let go and is a reminder to listen to the voice within.

There is medicine in this place, In the depths of this earth body. She calls first to us in silent whispers, Then louder roars. Only when we're not listening, She screams, Calling for surrender to her wrath in deep remembrance of La Loba, Teaching you the sound of your true name. Listen to your body, The temple. Listen to your heart, The sanctuary. You were never meant to stay in comforts cages. They only held you so that you would journey to remember your wild. This is your call to wake up your warrior spirit and reclaim your rightful place among creation. The door to your cage has always been open. Patiently waiting for you to unleash your untamed essence. To wake up and live your change. Listen to your inner voice. Your medicine within has always been speaking.
