Poem: For All Those Who Couldn't Live More Free

A gentle offering from my poetry book, In Rooms of Truth — containing poems, art, prayers and permission slips on the alchemical journey of living and dying awake. This poem is part of a collection written specifically for moments when you think you might be ready to let go and is a reminder of the reclamation of self-liberation.

There's a sensing that I feel inside, A knowing that lives outside my mind, A truth that sits deep in my bones to the me inside I've always known. The one who senses before she thinks and finds, And trusts in the wisdom of what her eyes see behind. We are called to be wild and free. Wielding a fire of fierce grace she knows who she is, She knows her place is far beyond the cages that have tried to hold her. She'll spend her lifetime freeing herself and when she's older she'll look back and remember what it was all for. Every fire that burnt it all down banished cages and opened doors for her children and her ancestors and all those who couldn't live more free. She did it to be a living example of what wild and free can be.
