Poem: In This Room Of Truth

A gentle offering from my poetry book, In Rooms of Truth — containing poems, art, prayers and permission slips on the alchemical journey of living and dying awake. This poem is part of a collection written specifically for moments when you think you might be ready to let go and is a reminder of the reclamation of self-liberation.

I feel the call of surrender to everything I thought I knew. A fool's journey all the way in and through. A leap into the unknown. A step off the well-worn path. Naive to what's to come, All the deaths and her wrath. Prepared to die into every version of me to this day I thought I knew. But I'm ready to die into my becoming. I'm ready to sit in this room of truth. To let it all the way in and through and let it all come undone. Ready for my world to turn upside down. No more room not to wake up. Welcoming the call to surrender. Stripping everything that remains bare. The only thing left will be my open heart anchored only in prayer. That one day it will all make sense. The journey of waking up inside my dream. For now I surrender the need to know and abide to the mystery.
