Anchoring in the Now.
Take a moment to settle into a comfortable position gently.
Allow your body to soften.
Your shoulders to drop.
Your jaw to unclench.
And your breath to begin to slow,
Naturally,
Without effort.
If it feels safe allow your eyes to gently close.
Or soften your gaze toward the floor.
Take a slow,
Deep breath in through the nose.
And exhale gently through the mouth.
Inhale feeling the chest and belly expand.
And exhale,
Letting go of anything you no longer need to hold.
Now allow your breathing to return to its natural rhythm.
Simply noticing each inhale.
And each exhale.
There is nowhere you need to go.
Nothing you need to fix.
Nothing you need to become.
For these few minutes,
You are allowed to simply be.
Begin by gently bringing your awareness into your body.
Notice the weight of your body where it makes contact with the chair,
The floor or the bed beneath you.
Feel the steadiness of the ground supporting you.
Feel yourself being held.
With each breath invite a little more softness into your body.
Into your shoulders,
Your neck,
Your face,
Your hands.
Your belly.
Let your body know that it is safe to relax.
Now,
Gently bring your attention to your breath.
Not changing it.
Not controlling it.
Just noticing.
Feel the cool air as you breathe in.
And the warm air as you breathe out.
Notice the gentle rise and fall of your chest or belly.
Each breath anchoring you right here.
Right now.
This breath is always available to you.
A steady companion in every moment.
As you sit here,
Thoughts may begin to appear.
Memories,
Plans,
Emotions,
Sensations.
This is completely natural.
Instead of trying to push them away.
Imagine them as clouds drifting across a wide open sky.
Each thought,
Each feeling.
Each sensation.
Just a passing cloud.
You do not need to chase them.
You do not need to hold on to them.
You do not need to judge them.
Simply notice them.
And gently return your awareness back to your breath.
Like watching clouds move slowly across the sky.
You remain the open space in which everything unfolds.
If you find yourself caught in a story,
A worry or a memory,
Gently smiled inwardly.
And softly say to yourself,
Thinking.
Then lovingly guide your attention back to your breath.
Back to this inhale.
And this exhale.
Again and again.
This is not failure.
This is mindfulness.
Each return to the breath is a moment of awakening.
Now begin to sense the deeper stillness beneath all movement.
Behind every thought.
Behind every emotion.
There is a quiet presence.
A calm awareness that is always here.
Rest in that awareness.
Let yourself feel what it's like to simply exist.
Without labels,
Without stories,
Without expectations.
Just being.
Notice the sounds around you.
Not analyzing them.
Just letting them come and go.
Notice sensations in your body.
Warmth,
Coolness,
Tingling.
Stillness.
Everything is welcome.
Everything belongs.
And through it all,
Your breath continues.
Steady,
Gentle,
Faithful.
Now silently repeat in your mind.
In this moment,
I am safe.
In this moment,
I am enough.
In this moment,
I allow myself to be.
Let these words sink gently into your heart.
If emotions arise,
Sadness,
Longing,
Heaviness,
Or even joy,
Meet them with kindness.
Place a gentle hand over your heart if that feels comforting.
And remind yourself,
This too is allowed.
This too will pass.
Just like clouds moving across the sky,
Every feeling changes,
Transforms and eventually dissolves.
You are the sky,
Vast,
Open,
And unbroken.
Stay here for a few quiet breaths.
Inhaling peace.
Exhaling tension.
Inhaling presence.
Exhaling worry.
Each breath bringing you deeper into the safety of now.
Now begin to gently bring awareness back into your physical body.
Feel your feet,
Your hands,
Your face Notice the support beneath you once more.
Take one slow,
Nourishing breath in.
And release it slowly.
And when you're ready,
Softly open your eyes.
Carry the sense of presence with you into the rest of your day.
Remember,
You can return to this moment,
To this breath.
Anytime you need.
