Hello,
This is Carrie at Empowered Within.
And I would like to support you in either returning back to work or even just returning back to the office.
So I'd like for you right now to get in a relaxed and comfortable position.
Close your eyes.
And focus on your breathing.
Slow rhythmic breaths.
Just follow the breath.
And notice how you feel when you intentionally slow the breath down.
And tune in to the body as it breathes.
Notice how the energy changes around your human bubble.
You might feel a shift in the air or a quiet calm settling over you like a mist of fog that is sweet and soft.
And still follow the breath.
Just observing.
There is no need to force or judge or cling.
Just let yourself be in this moment.
You can even imagine in your mind's eye you are that gentle fog or mist.
And it's so peaceful,
Serene and calm now.
Leave the mist into your mind.
And observe how it softly floats down into the neck,
The shoulders,
The chest,
The back and belly,
Your bottom,
Your legs,
Your feet.
And it all becomes quiet and still.
It's a beautiful feeling,
Isn't it?
To just drift and be.
To be this calm,
This quiet,
This still.
Now,
I want to support you in returning back to the office or to even work where you have to engage with people because humans are social creatures.
I want to teach you the stop technique.
And if you like,
You can even write the word down to be a visual reminder for you.
Your stop has two Ps at the end.
S stands for screeching to a stop and maybe sanitizing your hands,
Your desk,
Your chair,
A doorknob,
Whatever you need to do.
Just stop and sanitize if you must.
The T stands for timing your breathing.
Just check in with your breath.
Are you holding it?
Are you grinding your teeth?
And slow the breathing down.
You can even imagine the fog or the mist to reconnect you to how you feel now in this moment.
O is for reserving.
Just observe the situation,
How you're feeling.
Take in the whole picture of who,
What,
Where,
Whatever triggered you that created anxiety or fear.
And P is for perspective.
Whatever triggered you,
Was it an opinion or a factual?
Is it life or death?
And remember,
This is only temporary.
It could be quite different a year from now.
But change your perspective.
And then the final P is to practice what you learned.
Maybe you need to speak your truth.
Maybe you need to set healthy boundaries.
Maybe you need to agree to disagree.
Maybe you need to walk away and disengage.
But do what you need to do to feel safe and secure.
To have peace of mind.
Calm breaths.
And be one with the fog.
Visualizing is a wonderful tool.
I mean,
Imagine the fog now.
It's so calming and soothing.
You can have a picture on your phone of the fog as a visual reminder.
You can put a picture of the fog in your cubicle or on your desk or your computer screen.
And remember when you return to work to take care of you.
To rehydrate and drink water.
Or maybe a hot beverage,
Which helps kill the virus in the mouth.
And make sure to take your supplements,
Like vitamin D,
Zinc and magnesium.
And maybe have your K checked.
Because the people that got the COVID virus were deficient in those areas.
But remember when you return to work to be mindful.
You are only in control of your body.
And what your body needs in the moment of fear,
Anxiety or chaos.
Be the presence of mindful peace and serenity.
Monitor your breathing.
Observe your thoughts.
Change your perspective.
And then practice what makes you feel safe and secure.
Now I want you to lock in these feelings of safety and security.
God.
You can even say in your mind,
I am the peaceful fog.
I am one with the mist.
And see how that makes you feel.
If it soothes you and brings you comfort or peace of mind,
Use it.
Remember it.
And if you have to wear a face mask,
They have these little thing called turtles.
It's a turtle mask.
It can go over the mouth and nose,
Which allows the mask to give you some space.
So it's not so up against the nose or lips.
It can bring you a sense of comfort.
A sense of ease.
But do what you need to do to feel good.
Do what gives you a peace of mind.
And so be safe.
Stay safe.
Smile,
Laugh,
Socialize.
Be the best that you can be.
And always remember,
This is only temporary.
Joy ended us all.
