Welcome to 5-Minute Reset.
A time designed just for you to help you reset your nervous system and feel more mental clarity.
Today,
I will be guiding you through gentle movements to stretch and release joints throughout your body.
This practice helps build the mind-body connection while also releasing tension your body may be holding in your joints.
I encourage you to keep your movements gentle,
Noticing which movements feel good in your body.
Start in a comfortable seated position.
Start with slow rotations in your neck,
Turning to look over your right shoulder,
Back to center,
And over your left shoulder.
Come back to center and do that one more time.
Turn to the right,
Back to center,
And to the left.
Back to center again.
Now gently tilt your head to the right,
Stretching your right ear towards your right shoulder.
Keep your shoulders down and relaxed.
Feel the stretch on the left side of your neck.
Bring your head back up to center.
Now tilt to the left,
Bringing your left ear closer to your left shoulder for a stretch on the right side of your neck.
Bring your head back up to center.
Move into shoulder rolls.
Roll your shoulders forward,
Up,
And back,
All in one smooth,
Slow motion.
Do that three to four times.
Next,
Straighten your elbows.
Bend your arms in and straighten your elbow again.
Now rotate your wrists in one direction,
And then the other.
You can even do one wrist at a time if you'd like.
Then extend your fingers out,
And then pull them into fists.
Do that a second time.
Extend out.
Gently shake your arms and hands out at your side,
Allowing them to hang down from your shoulders,
Just to release any final tension from those joints.
Next,
Make circles with your torso,
Moving your chest around and forward,
And then leaning lightly back.
Switch directions if that feels good in your body.
This is helping our hip joints.
Moving on to your legs.
Straighten your legs out,
And curl your legs back in.
Straighten those legs out.
It's okay to do one at a time if you need to.
Now you're going to rotate your ankles in one direction.
Feel free to do one ankle at a time if that's easier.
And then rotate in the other direction.
Lastly,
Expand your toes.
Really spread them out,
And then curl those toes in.
Do that one more time.
Expand them out,
And curl them in.
Feel free to give your legs a little gentle shake to shake that movement out.
Then take a deep breath in,
And let it go.
