Welcome to a gratitude meditation to harness joy.
Taking time to acknowledge and appreciate people,
To appreciate your surroundings and general things in your life.
Taking time to cultivate the habit of practicing gratitude for every good thing that comes into your life.
Through practicing gratitude this opens up and provides us with an opportunity to cultivate a prosperous life and create space for emotional well-being.
For this practice today I'd like to invite you to take a moment and find your space.
Settle yourself and while doing so make sure that you are comfortable,
Whether seated or lying down.
And you are welcome to close your eyes for this meditation practice.
I'd like to invite you to take a deep breath.
Breathe in slowly through your nose and then exhale.
I'd like to invite you to take a deep breath.
Breathe in slowly through your nose and exhale,
Feeling the air leaving your body.
Take another deep breath in and out and start following the natural rhythm of your breathing.
In life we tend to focus more on thinking and experiencing the natural rhythm of our breathing.
In life we tend to focus more on things that are going wrong in our lives,
More than on what is going right in our lives.
And for this meditation today we will be harnessing the positive things in our lives and cultivate a habit of finding joy in the moment.
And right now while sitting or lying down I'd like you to reflect on a situation or a moment that brought you complete joy.
Take a moment here to recall these thoughts.
I'd like you to focus on the feeling of your mind and the feeling of your mind.
One thing that you might not have noticed if you were not paying attention.
Draw your attention on how the thought of this action rediscovered your joy.
Hold on to this feeling and notice where about in your body you feel these sensations.
Try to notice the feeling each time you experience joy.
What does it feel like in your breathing?
What does it feel like in your heart space?
And notice the sensation aligned in your body.
Imprint this feeling.
Notice the sensations in your heart space.
Take a moment to realise the sensations of joy.
And for this moment embrace it.
Take a moment to realise the sensations of joy.
And as we take a deep breath in and slowly out while we close this practice,
We can feel joy.
Feel the overwhelming effect of joy.
And take this one thought that you've rediscovered into your next moment or use it as you start your day.
And while we do this practice on a regular basis our capacity to notice the effect of joy cultivates a whole new feeling.
And by doing this we open up and invite more good in our lives.
