Meditation On Mana: Empowering, Vitalising, Restoring

A restorative meditation about opening ourselves up to full vitality, purpose, and presence. Mana is the word for energy, power, and divine connection in 26 languages indigenous to the islands of the Pacific. This is a reflection on the concept of Mana, and how it might add value to our understanding of ourselves, and being fully conscious of our own purpose and power.

The meditation seeks to lift blocks to being our best selves and assists with opening ourselves up to our unique radiance. This is one in a series of Mana Moana meditations that explore indigenous concepts, philosophy and ideas from the largest ocean in the world.

Welcome to this meditation on the concept of mana found in 26 oceanic languages.

We all have our own unique way of allowing mana to flow through us and into our lives to be acknowledged by others.

Mana means power,

Energy,

Charisma,

Authority,

Respect,

Receiving the full blessings of that which is greater than us,

Being in your shining and having this recognized by others.

This meditation is about opening up to that,

Being impactful,

True to our calling,

Serving ambitiously,

Getting out of our own way and cultivating the conditions that will enable the presence of mana to flow in our lives.

Close your eyes and settle yourself in the dark.

Imagine yourself up in the night sky,

In the galactic night,

Among the stars,

Traveling and when you look down you can see the midnight blue of the ocean beneath you.

A reminder that we are a water world as you move in the night sky,

In the Milky Way,

Glowing hands of light touching the shining of the stars.

Feel your fingers touch star after star as you travel through the air from constellation to constellation until finally you come to the whole moon glowing in the dark.

Touch the moon with two hands holding it like a shining orb.

Now pull the light of the moon and the light of the stars down into the deep of the ocean.

Pull the glowing light of the stars until it is absorbed into the world's water.

Feel the surface of the sea shimmering in the glow beneath the surface,

Luminescent,

Iridescent.

This is not unlike mana.

Now imagine all the light of the stars shining,

Coming down through your body,

Shimmering on your surface,

Then coming deep into your body.

Let us clear the pathway to the shining ones,

Clear the pathway to the radiant ones,

Clear the pathway to the ancient ones,

Clear the entanglements that keep us from connecting with the divine.

Let the grace of that which is greater than us enter us,

Ignite us,

Alight us,

Arrive upon us open and anchoring ones.

We open ourselves to be vessels,

Worthy vessels,

Capable of carrying and holding mana even with all our flaws and failings.

Let us be vessels that can be filled with radiance,

Mana,

Open,

The lightest,

Most loving,

Gifted energy of all.

And if there is anything we feel which is not serving us,

Fears,

Insecurities,

Doubt,

Let them depart our body,

Let us dissolve our resistance,

Knowing it is so hard to live our purpose and serve others when we make ourselves so small,

So powerless and depleted of energy and self-belief,

Despite our misgivings,

That we are not special enough,

We are not good enough,

We have nothing of value to give.

Let it go,

Let it flow,

Let it dissolve,

So we can be of full service to the greater good.

Imagine that starlight and loving energy fill you with belief in your abilities,

Let it enter the top of your head and filter down through your body,

Imagine that light moving down through your shoulders,

Out through your hands into all that you touch,

Imagine it flow through your legs so you can walk with purpose and bring it back all the way up to your neck so you can hold your head high,

Feel it in the strength of your jaw,

Let your eyes soften so that you can be filled with love,

Let that light move up,

Out through your head and feel yourself really open to it,

A channel,

A vessel,

Allowing that which is greater than you to come through you,

Energy,

Power,

Presence,

Authority,

Sureness,

Capability,

Focus,

Clarity,

Inspired,

Activated,

Light,

Let this shimmer through your body from head to toe and as you feel with this warm radiance,

Gifted energy,

Remember that we are all energy in mass particle form,

We are simply remembering that we are made of energy and we open our bodies to that knowing,

To carry this into all that we do,

Let it come through us and reach all it needs to reach,

Let it radiate beyond you in waves of influence,

Moving outwards from you,

Serving a greater purpose,

Remembering what it is to be exalted,

Connected,

In conscious mind with all that we are and all that we could be,

All here,

All energy,

Present in our full vitality,

Each cell singing an ode to being alive,

Open to our calling,

Present to our purpose,

Living who we are meant to be,

Living who we are dreamt to be,

All of the light and the bright of the stars and moon are with us here in this moment,

All of the celestial and all of the earth's energy,

Its gravity,

Physics,

Movement,

Motion is here with us,

All the terrestrial and we ground it,

We breathe deep in our bodies,

Unafraid to harness greatness for the greater good,

Let us overflow with energy,

Sure,

Able to go out and give it,

Live it,

Share it,

Let it come from us to all others,

To all that we touch,

To all we endeavour to do,

Let us be of service,

Knowing the more we give away,

The more it will grow and glow beyond us,

We feel ourselves overflowing,

Energised,

Awake,

Fully conscious,

Ready to go out and be.
