Today on Beautiful Life,
Fear.
Are you in charge of your life or is fear?
Fear is the number one thing that stops people from living a life they love,
From living a life they long for,
From taking action,
Loving more deeply,
Taking risk,
Being who they are meant to be,
Standing out,
Standing up,
Being seen,
Being remarkable,
Being special,
Being more and better.
I could go on and on.
So what is fear anyway?
Fear is an emotion that is a result of a collection of thoughts.
Period.
That's all it is.
Our mind says something like,
Don't do that or else you'll be embarrassed.
Then our emotional selves feel fear.
And so then we do nothing as a result.
Every action or inaction is a result of our thinking minds.
Everything we feel and do is a result of our thinking.
Everything.
So in coaching or counseling,
We look at our thoughts.
When we are battling this big saboteur of fear,
What are we telling ourselves that is stopping us?
What are you telling yourself that is stopping you?
I like to ask this powerful question.
What would you do if you had no fear?
You would not believe the things people have told me.
I'd write a book.
I'd quit my job and finally start painting and drawing again.
I'd tell my spouse that isn't working and hasn't been for a long time and I'd leave.
I'd be in a lot of trouble.
I'd be in a lot of trouble.
I'd be in a lot of trouble.
I'd be in a lot of trouble.
I'd be in a lot of trouble.
I'd be in a lot of trouble.
I'd stop faking.
I like blank or blank or blank.
And I'd really start doing stuff I love every day.
I'd tell my old girlfriend that I made a mistake and really she's the one I truly have loved my whole life.
I'd create something in the field of blank that no one has ever thought of before.
Yep,
The possibilities are endless.
Fear can serve us in areas where there is potential danger,
Certainly.
Other than that,
Fear is just an emotion.
We get to decide if we let fear guide our decisions,
Our lives.
We are in charge of our thinking and we can change our thoughts,
Which lead to our emotions and actions.
So I ask you,
Are you in charge of your life or is fear?
