Welcome to this yoga nidra for balancing your hormones.
So if you've taken a live class with me on insight timer,
Then you will know or be familiar with this yoga nidra.
For those of you that are brand new,
Welcome.
This is great to practice when we are needing to feel more balanced,
When we are needing to calm down if we've had a stressful or busy day.
And it's also great as a way to settle our body,
Our mind if we are transitioning from one thing to another.
So maybe we are moving from work mode,
You know lots of us are working from home still so maybe we're working from home,
We're in the same environment and we're changing from work mode to family mode.
You know this is a nice one to just to do in that interim and to get us more connected to ourselves and to be able to move into the next thing with a clearer mind.
It's also great to practice in bed if you're experiencing any sleep problems or unable to get to sleep or waking up during the night.
This can be something that you practice to help in those situations too.
So on that note we are going to lie down for this and just get really comfortable so feel free to have something under the head,
Maybe a thin pillow or a blanket,
Folded blanket.
You might even want something underneath the knees to help your lower back and you can do this with the feet on the floor and the knees touching.
But just make sure that your leg muscles can relax so whatever lying position you take just make sure that you're not engaging your leg muscles.
Okay so this is where the support under the knees might be useful.
So I'm just going to give you a few moments to get comfortable.
And of course feel free to grab layers so you might want a blanket or a jumper or socks.
Just make yourself really comfortable,
Really cozy.
And then once you've found that comfortable position,
Start with a few deep and conscious breaths.
So paying attention to the inhale and the exhale.
Inhale and exhale.
And just continuing with your breath and on the exhale allowing the weight of your body to sink down.
Feel your muscles release,
Feel your tension release.
And you might find that your mind starts to move around and begin to think of different things but just see if you can bring it back.
Bring it back to your breath,
Back to that feeling on the exhale of releasing.
And then begin to bring your awareness now to your left foot.
And imagine a white light sitting on top of the left toes.
A bright white light like a star on top of the left toes.
And as you inhale,
Imagine this light travelling through the left foot.
The left knee shines,
The left ovary or testes shine.
The thyroid in the throat shines.
And the pituitary gland in the centre of the head shining brightly.
As you exhale,
Imagine that white light travelling out from the centre point infinitely wide.
And on your next inhale it draws back in to the centre point of the head.
Exhale through the right side,
Through the right fingers,
Right toes.
Letting everything go.
And then the light or the star appears on the right toes.
And as you inhale it enters through the right foot.
The right knee shines,
Right ovary or testes shine.
The thyroid in the throat shines.
And the pituitary,
A P-shaped gland in the centre of the head shines brightly.
On your next exhale that light expands out infinitely wide.
And on the inhale it draws back in.
On your next exhale imagine the energy flowing out through the left side,
Through the left fingers,
Left toes,
Allowing you to let go fully.
And then the light appears on the left toes.
As you inhale it enters through the left foot.
The left knee shines,
Left ovary or the testes shine.
The thyroid in the throat shines.
And that P-shaped gland,
Pituitary shining in the centre of the head.
As you exhale the light expands out.
And as you inhale it draws back in.
Exhale through the right side of your body,
Releasing everything.
Imagine this being a cleansing action through your energy channels,
Removing the blockages.
And then the light appears on the right toes.
And as you inhale it enters through the right foot.
The right knee shines,
Right ovary,
Testes shine.
The thyroid shines,
And pituitary shining brightly in the centre of the head.
As you exhale the light expands out.
And as you inhale it draws back in.
On your next exhale feel the rush of energy through the left side,
Removing the blockages.
Purifying all of the energy channels and allowing balance and harmony to be restored.
Just taking a few more breaths here.
Allowing your body to be in this moment.
Beginning to notice how you feel after this yoga nidra.
And if you wish to stay here a little bit longer please do.
And if you're ready to continue with your day you can slowly wiggle the fingers and toes.
Stretching out.
And then making your way up very slowly,
Very softly,
Taking this idea of balance with you as you move onto your next thing.
