Please enjoy my rendition of this classic movement from Claude Debussy’s Suite bergamasque. Debussy’s inspiration came from the French poet Paul Verlaine. Verlaine’s early work, “Fêtes galantes” (Gallant Parties) has a poem of the same name ”Clair de Lune” (Moonlight), which describes a fantasy scene of wealthy costumed friends outwardly enjoying themselves while they inwardly carry shades of melancholy. This was recorded on a Yamaha P255 electric piano in one take. Photo Credit: Jaunathan Gagnon
