I get a lot out of meditation by seeing my desires and the pain that they can cause me.
How can I share this information with my friends and family without forcing my views on them?
If your friends and family can accept this,
Then that's fine.
However,
There's a high probability that your family or your friends might not accept it.
It's likely that they think that if this is so good for you,
Then go ahead,
Engage with it.
Therefore,
It's probably better until you get to a certain stage that you feel comfortable with,
That you keep this practice to yourself.
Then this practice will lead to a certain change,
Substantive change in your life.
For example,
You get less angry less often.
Maybe you drink less.
Or you're a much better listener.
Or you engage in more charity work.
Or you're much more generous.
There has to be some kind of substantive change,
A visible change.
And the other person might see you and say,
Oh,
That person really changed.
And that change will have to be a positive change for yourself and for others as well.
Then it triggers a kind of a question or curiosity in the other saying,
How did that person change us in such a positive way?
That will trigger a question back to you.
And that's a good opportunity for you to explain with full modesty how certain things,
Certain ways of doing things kind of led you to this positive change.
Then at that point,
They might ask voluntarily,
Out of their own intense desire,
How did that person change us in such a positive way?
And that's a good opportunity for you to explain with full modesty how certain things,
Certain ways of doing things kind of led you to this positive change.
How did you do it?
Can you share this with me?
That's when it really becomes a substantive help to the others.
Of course,
You can go ahead and share this information to your friends and family now.
And if the others say,
You know,
That sounds interesting,
Let me do it too.
Then that's fine as well.
Then you have to wait.
Until you become more mature on this path and there's some substantive change that happens to you.
So on such things that we're engaged in,
Meditation,
Practice,
Enlightenment,
These only are effective when you come at it of your own volition.
It's not something that you have to force yourself to do.
It's something that you have to do.
And it's something that you have to do.
It's not something that you have to force yourself to do.
These are effective when you come at it of your own volition.
If you don't come at it voluntarily of your own volition,
Then they're not effective.
