
Unconditional Love And Mental Time Travel Therapy
Go on a journey in your mind, folding the map of your life so you can love yourself unconditionally and heal your past self. The first time you do this meditation, pick a time when you just needed extra love. After that, you can pick times that were more difficult. You can do this meditation as much as you like, as long as the unconditional love is there!

Hi there,
This is a meditation about calming down and accepting and having an awareness of love for yourself over time.
So I think it should take about 15,
10 to 15 minutes.
Okay,
Here we go.
So first step is to rearrange yourself so that you feel comfortable.
To me that means either lying down or sitting in a chair.
I like to uncross my arms and my legs when I do this meditation because I feel like it makes me more receptive,
But why don't you do what works for you.
I like to close my eyes during this meditation because there's a lot of visualizing.
So I invite you to try that.
And just a preview of what the meditation is so that you know ahead of time and then we'll go ahead and do it.
At first we'll imagine a tree supporting you and then we'll imagine a bright ball of unconditional love above your body and imagine that love coming into your body.
Then I'll ask you to focus in the center of your head and I'll ask you to put some of that unconditional love there too.
And then I'll ask you to meet with a part of yourself that existed before any of your current troubles began.
So before you were aware of any of your,
Whatever your current problems are.
Then I'll ask you to have a conversation with that part of yourself and have a connection there and send love back and forth there.
And then I'll ask you to come back and open your eyes.
So that's a preview of what this meditation is about.
Now we'll go ahead and do it.
So yeah,
Go ahead,
Consider closing your eyes,
Get relaxed,
Find your spot,
Set aside the time,
Take a deep breath in and out.
It's okay to make noise when you breathe.
You're a human being and sometimes I think we forget that we have these biological noises that happen.
So I'm just reminding myself and yourself about that.
Okay,
So I'd like you to imagine there's a tree that has its roots in the center of the earth and it grows up toward you with its trunk.
It goes through all those layers of earth,
All the way up through whatever floor of the building that you're on or if you're outdoors,
All the way up through the top soil,
The grass and it settles right beneath your bottom.
And I want you to know this is a very strong tree.
So if you're imagining a birch tree or something with a very narrow trunk,
That's fine.
But I'd just like you to imagine making the trunk wide enough.
It's your own imagination so you can do whatever you want.
So just stretch that trunk out so it supports you.
You've got plenty of room if you move your butt around.
It's not a problem because it is wide.
It is many times wider than you.
It's a big tree and it connects you to the center of the earth.
The purpose of this tree is just to connect you right to the center of the earth and to hold you and protect you.
Its branches can come up around you.
It's as if you're sitting in the crux of the tree before the branches come up or you could have them draped down like a willow tree.
But there you are being supported by this tree that has grown from the center of the earth just to support you.
So take a few breaths here and settle into your tree.
That's awesome.
So the next step is above your head imagine there's a ball or sphere,
Whatever you want to call it,
A round thing.
And you can see through it and inside what you see is beautiful,
Glittering,
Golden light.
Now this light is special.
It's unconditional love.
That means love without any rules or regulations.
Love that doesn't fail.
And that love is specifically for you.
So I like to remind myself of this by putting my name like as if I have a label maker in my mind and putting a label maker name,
My name,
On the sphere.
Sometimes I put it several places just to remind myself this is for me.
So even if I have the temptation to give that unconditional love to someone else,
It's not going to help them because this unconditional love,
This glittery golden light is built specifically for me and in your case specifically for you.
So we each have our balls of glittery golden light above us and it's all for us.
And the next step is to bring that golden glittery light down into your body and into the area around your body.
You're still being held up by this tree,
This trunk.
And now that unconditional love that's made just for you comes down and fills up your body,
Every part of your body.
There's not a part that is left out.
And if you notice you have a hard time imagining some part of your body receiving the unconditional love,
Just notice that.
And take a look at this ball and notice that as you empty it of that unconditional love made just for you,
It refills again.
So it keeps refilling.
It never ends.
So you never have to worry about taking too much.
So keep filling up your body with unconditional love that's made just for you,
This golden light.
And remember,
You're not going to be able to have too much of that.
So it's not like there's a risk of,
Well,
I better stop.
You don't really ever need to stop.
You can keep filling up with it.
So I'm just going to breathe and bring in that golden light while you do the same.
Okay,
Great job.
However you're doing,
Even if you can't visualize it or can't bring it in or whatever's going on for you,
You're trying to do it and next time may be different.
So you can always try again.
So now I'd like you to imagine that glittery golden light coming down around your body,
Not just into your body.
That's also great,
But also around your body so that you yourself are,
It's like you're in the ball of light.
Like you've brought that light down to you and it surrounds you now.
And it can still be above your head because you need a source for this light too.
So you're building your own ball of light with your body in the center and the sources above your head and continually coming down with that golden glittery awesome energy,
Light,
Whatever you want to call it.
I call it unconditional love.
That's just for you.
So enjoy this.
Now I'm going to ask you to bring it into a specific place.
Still more.
That's right.
Still more.
The place in the middle of your head,
The center of your head in between your ears.
I've been alerted to the importance of this place by my wonderful friend,
Garrett Walters.
At the front of our head is where we do most of our,
It's like where we imagine ourselves thinking and doing analysis.
But at the back of your head in between your ears,
It's a more relaxing place.
That's not about analysis,
But it's still like your control tower.
It's like where you run you.
So that golden light,
That unconditional love especially loves to come here if you can let it in.
So imagine bringing that in and brightening up that space right between your ears while you're at it.
This is your spot for making plans and having ideas and loving yourself and learning new things and all sorts of things about what it is to be you.
So go ahead and redecorate super quickly.
You can always redecorate again.
Just make it exactly the way you want it.
And if you have a hard time doing that,
That's okay.
You can try again next time.
Personally,
I like the ocean right there with a view of the forest,
But you may want a whole different kind of thing like a castle or the inside of a frog.
I have no idea.
So let that golden light come into that place that is just yours.
I like to call it my inner lab.
And let that light love up that space so it's full of love for you.
Because in this space is where we're going to do the work of connecting with our younger self.
And I say work because sometimes it feels like work.
It can sometimes feel like play.
So either one.
But put your attention in the center of your head,
In that area that's between your ears,
That's filled up with unconditional love,
Light.
That's just for you.
And imagine that your life is spread out before you like a map.
Or like a piece of fabric.
Sometimes I think of it as the actual fabric of space time.
And go ahead and plant a flag mentally at a time before you had the current issue,
Struggle,
Or problem that you're dealing with.
The time when you did not have that.
You might have had other things going on because life is like that,
Right?
But you didn't have this current struggle.
Maybe you were healthier.
Maybe you were happier.
Maybe you were less confused.
Maybe you were more aware of your own who I am-ness,
Your own sense of who you are.
Who knows?
But whatever it is today at this moment,
Go back to your younger self and plant a flag.
Let's not go back to your younger self yet.
Let's plant a flag at that time.
And you can paint the flag with whatever you want.
I'd also like you to plant a flag and paint it however you want for the present moment,
Right here where you are in this landscape or in this fabric.
And when you're ready,
I'm going to ask you to take that other flag mentally of the younger self location and bring it to where you are now.
So it comes to you.
And imagine that your younger self is there looking at you,
Straight in front of you.
And you're looking at your younger self.
I want you to consider having a brief conversation.
But first,
You listen to what your younger self wants to say and what it might need from you.
Let's do that now.
And as you listen,
You don't have to say yes to anything that your younger self wants.
You can just listen with love and listen with clarity and listen just to listen because you care about your younger self.
And if you want to say yes to anything your younger self wants,
You can do that now.
And you can tell your younger self anything that you want to tell your younger self.
And you can turn off the pause this meditation for a second if you want to keep going.
Otherwise I'll keep going.
And when you're done with the conversation with your younger self,
Go ahead and give a hug or hold your younger self or do a little dance or whatever you feel like doing to connect with love to your younger self.
It's an honor to receive these messages across space time and it feels strengthening to love yourself at a different age at a different time and to feel that love coming in the other direction.
So when you're ready,
Take the flag of your younger self and put it back in its place in space time or the map.
Take a few deep breaths.
Fill yourself up with more unconditional love just for you from that golden light.
When you're ready,
Open your eyes and go about your day stronger and more whole,
Having connected with love.

Very powerful. Thank you. I found this quite helpful on my journey. Now that I have done this once, I would love to have a meditation with the same content and guidance but without all of the explanation and description. I would return to that often.
