Whether you are sitting down,
Laying down,
Standing up,
Or walking,
Take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your mouth.
Release,
Let go.
Slowly arrive into your body and into this moment.
Start to notice your breath.
Start to send your in-breaths deep down into your belly,
Feeling your belly rise like a balloon when you breathe in,
And fall back when you breathe out,
Letting your body move as you breathe.
Maybe you can send your in-breaths even deeper down,
Down into your pelvic floor.
One more with each breath.
Noticing all of the places where your body is touching the ground,
Feeling how the ground supports you,
How it holds you.
During this meditation,
We will connect to different body parts,
And the aim is to do this with a very soft and gentle approach.
When anything feels too overwhelming,
Just know that it's okay to back off,
Go back to that soft edge where it feels good in your body.
Grounding can sometimes feel overwhelming because feelings might come up,
Emotions might come up that you haven't felt for a long time.
To be aware that it's okay to be soft and gentle,
And to do it little by little.
Overwhelm actually disconnects you from your body,
And that is exactly what we do not want to do.
We want to connect to our body in a gentle way,
And allowing the feelings and sensations to come up when we're ready.
So listen to your body,
And find what feels good within your body,
And take it step by step.
Start to become aware of any sensation in your feet,
And expand this sensation until it fills up your whole foot.
Imagining your feet open for the energy of the earth.
And on your next exhale,
Feel the energy of the earth go up through the soles of your feet,
Through your ankles,
And into your legs.
And when you inhale,
Feel the energy move down back into the earth.
Stay with your breath,
Feel the energy move up and down.
Now start breathing into your pelvic floor,
Noticing any sensations in this area.
Or maybe you feel numbness.
Everything is welcome.
Allow whatever is.
And start connecting your feet and your pelvic floor with your breath.
Feel the energy move up and down in between your feet and your pelvic floor.
Now become aware of your back body.
All of the spaces,
All of the places where you feel the back of your body,
Your legs,
Your back,
Your head.
If you're laying down,
You might feel your back body touching the ground.
Becoming aware of this area of our body,
Which we often neglect,
But which is so important to ground.
Now also becoming aware of the space behind your back body.
This is the place where your ancestors live,
Who literally have your back the same as you.
What does it feel like to live more in this space,
Does it feel familiar?
Or have you never spent any time here?
And by being aware of this space behind you,
You're distributing the energy,
You're evening out the energy from the front of your body.
To also the back of your body.
Noticing space behind your heart.
What does it feel like here?
Now imagine a line that goes through the crown of your head,
All the way down your throat,
Your heart,
Your solar plexus,
Down your belly,
Your pelvic floor,
All the way down to the ground.
This is your midline,
Your center.
Becoming aware of this line that runs from the top of your head all the way down,
Brings you into center.
Gives you focus.
Grounds your whole body.
Stay here for as long as you need to integrate any sensations or any emotions that might have come up.
