In this chakra meditation,
We will come to a seated position,
Straight back,
Seated comfortably,
Muscles relaxed,
Have our hands in our lap with our palms up and our feet rooted firmly on the ground.
We'll begin by taking three deep breaths.
Inhale and exhale.
Inhale and exhale.
Inhale and exhale.
Take a moment to find the breathing pattern that's comfortable for you,
Relaxed and not forced.
And maintain that throughout this meditation.
And on your next inhale,
Imagine a white light coming in from the top of your head and pouring down through the center of your body.
And as you exhale,
Push that light all the way down through the bottoms of your feet and into the earth.
Do this two more times.
Bringing that light down from the top of your head and pushing through the soles of your feet.
Now take a moment to allow in your mind,
Your feet to grow roots,
Deep,
Strong roots that dig deep into the earth's core.
Let these roots travel as far as they need to in order for you to feel securely grounded.
Now just like with a tree,
Our root systems can gather nutrients.
So we'll imagine a deep red light coming in through our roots and being pulled up into our bodies.
Circulating around.
And finally,
Coming to rest at the base of our spine.
As that light comes into the base of our spine and rests,
It starts to revolve,
Looking much like a wheel.
Take a moment and just notice for you at what speed that light is revolving.
This wheel represents our base or our root chakra.
Sometimes when we feel like our chakra may be blocked,
That wheel may not spin very quickly at all.
In contrast,
If we feel that the root chakra is maybe overactive,
That wheel can be spinning very,
Very quickly.
So the goal here for us is to breathe through this process until we get to a point where that wheel of red light is revolving at just the right pace for us.
And as we breathe deeply,
We're able to adjust that pace so that energy is flowing without resistance,
But it's not out of control either.
As we find that perfect pace,
Start to visualize the energy flowing back down your legs and through your feet and into the core of the earth.
And we start to create a circuit.
Energy is coming up through our roots,
Through our feet,
Up our legs,
Up through our bodies,
Into our head,
Circulating back down and into the base of our spine,
Where it takes a few turns on that wheel and then gently starts its path back down into the earth.
And let this flow for just a moment.
As this circuit flows,
Let's just start to notice a feeling of openness from our root,
May that be the bottoms of your feet or the base of your spine,
To connection with the earth,
To feelings of safety and comfort,
Peace.
We're going to end this meditation by chanting the Bija mantra for the pace chakra,
Which is LAM.
We're going to chant three times.
If you're able to,
Please chant along with me.
If it's more comfortable,
Even just a hum will open up your root chakra for that vibration and really allow for a powerful closing to our meditation.
So we'll take a deep inhale.
LAM Inhale.
LAM One final inhale.
LAM Notice the feeling of peace,
The free flowing of energy.
And remember,
This feeling is available to you at any time.
All you have to do is stop,
Set an intention to connect to the earth and take some deep breaths.
Thank you for practicing with me today.
LAM Inhale.
