Welcome to this meditation.
My name is Jeremiah,
And this practice is here to help you arrive into your day with a little more steadiness,
Clarity,
And presence.
Before anything is asked of you,
Before the messages,
The responsibilities,
The conversations,
This is a moment to come back to yourself.
Find a comfortable seat,
Or choose to lie down if that feels better for your body this morning.
Let your hands rest naturally,
Soften your jaw,
And relax your shoulders.
Without forcing anything,
Gently close your eyes.
Take a slow inhale through your nose,
And exhale softly through the mouth.
Again,
Slow inhale through the nose,
Easy exhale through the mouth.
One more time together,
Breathing in,
And slowly breathing out.
Now allow your breath to settle into a natural rhythm.
Notice the contact points beneath you of your body,
The floor,
The seat,
The bed.
Notice that even right now,
Without effort,
Something is supporting you.
You do not have to hold everything alone in this moment.
Bring your awareness to your feet.
Imagine the bottoms of your feet becoming heavy,
Grounded,
Connected,
Almost like roots slowly extending downward into the earth beneath you.
Nothing dramatic,
Nothing mystical,
Just the feeling of becoming less scattered,
Less pulled in every direction.
Breathing in through the nose,
And calmly breathing out through the nose.
As thoughts arise about the day ahead,
Simply notice them.
You do not need to solve your entire life before breakfast.
You do not need to carry the weight of the entire week right now.
Just this breath,
Just this moment.
Bring awareness to your chest.
Notice if there's tension there,
Pressure,
Expectation.
Without trying to fix it,
Simply breathe with it.
Inhaling gently through the nose for four,
Three,
Two,
One,
And exhale slowly for six,
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Again,
Inhale for four,
Three,
Two,
One,
And exhale for six,
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Feel whatever happens when the exhale becomes longer than the inhale.
The nervous system begins to soften.
The body begins to receive the message that it is safe enough to slow down.
Now imagine yourself moving through the day with a little more space inside you.
Not rushing every moment,
Not abandoning yourself to keep up.
Just present,
Steady,
Aware.
Visualize yourself responding instead of reacting.
Breathing instead of bracing.
Listening instead of immediately tightening against life.
There may still be challenges today.
There may still be uncertainty,
But you do not have to meet the day already overwhelmed.
You are allowed to begin slowly.
You are allowed to begin honestly.
Take another slow inhale through the nose and exhale fully through the mouth.
Now bring one simple intention into your awareness.
Not a giant goal,
Not pressure,
Just one quality you want to carry with you today.
Maybe calm,
Patience,
Courage,
Prep,
Gratitude,
Trust.
Choose one that resonates most with you in this present moment and quietly repeat it to yourself.
Breathing in,
Breathing out.
Feel that word settle into the body.
Not something you need to perform,
Something you simply return to.
Take a final deep breath in through the nose and let it go slowly through the mouth,
Exhaling all the air out.
Begin to bring your awareness back into the room.
Wiggling your fingers and move your toes.
If your eyes are closed,
Gently blink them so they return to being open.
And before you rush into the rest of your day,
Take one more moment here.
Just notice how you feel,
Even if only slightly different.
Taking another deep breath in through the nose and just let the exhale go through the mouth.
Thank you for practicing with me today.
There are many ways to begin a morning and I'm grateful you chose to spend these moments here.
You can return to this practice anytime you need steadiness,
Clarity,
Or simply a place to reconnect with yourself before the day begins.
Thank you,
My friend.
