Welcome,
Beautiful soul.
My name is Janessa,
And I'm so grateful you're here.
Before we begin,
Make sure that you are in a safe,
Comfortable space,
Somewhere you can fully relax.
If you're able,
I recommend using headphones,
As this meditation includes binaural beats designed to gently support your nervous system and deepen your experience.
Now take a moment to settle in.
You might choose to sit or lie down,
Whatever feels most supportive for your body today.
There's no right way to be here.
Simply allow yourself to arrive as you are.
This meditation is intended to release shame.
As we move forward,
Know that you are always in control,
And if at any point something feels uncomfortable,
You're invited to pause,
Shift,
Or stop altogether.
Your body's wisdom leads the way.
When you're ready,
Begin to soften your breath and allow yourself to be guided.
Take a moment to notice the support beneath you,
The floor,
The chair,
The earth holding you effortlessly.
You are safe here.
Take a slow,
Deep breath in through your nose,
And a gentle sigh out through your mouth.
Again in,
And out.
With every breath,
Allow your body to soften just a little more.
Now gently bring to mind a feeling of shame that you've carried.
You don't need to relive it,
Just notice it as a sensation.
Where does it live in your body?
A tightness?
A weight?
A heat?
Simply observe it without judgment.
Now let your mind recognize something important.
This shame did not originate with you.
It was taught.
It was conditioned.
It was inherited.
You may notice images,
Words,
Or memories arising,
Voices of authority,
Rules,
Warnings,
Or fear.
You do not need to push them away.
Just notice.
These were messages,
Not truth.
Imagine those old teachings now as a set of heavy garments that you were dressed in long ago.
They were placed on you before you had a choice.
One by one,
Begin gently removing what no longer fits.
As each layer comes off,
Notice how your body feels lighter,
More breathable,
More yours.
Now instead of adding anything new,
We simply make room.
There's nothing you need to believe,
Nothing you need to adopt,
And nothing you need to replace.
Shame is not who you are.
It is an experience that is passing through you.
Notice what remains in your body where shame once lived.
Perhaps an echo,
A residue,
Or a faint contraction.
Allow your system to do what it already knows how to do.
On each exhale,
Let the sensation soften just by one degree.
It's not forced,
Not rushed.
You are not pushing shame away.
You are allowing it to move through you like a wave reaching the shore and receding naturally.
Simply notice what it feels like to no longer hold shame in its place.
As space opens,
Let your body rest in that space,
Neutral,
Quiet,
Unburdened.
Begin to gently bring awareness back to your body,
Noticing the surface beneath you,
The rhythm of your breath,
The quiet steadiness within.
There's no need to rush.
Let yourself arrive back into the room slowly.
If it feels supportive,
You might place a hand on your heart,
A simple reminder that you are here and you are held.
Take a moment to notice what has shifted,
Even in the smallest way.
Trust that whatever opened or softened today will continue to integrate in its own time.
When you're ready,
Begin to invite gentle movement back into your body,
Wiggling your fingers and toes,
Stretching if that feels good,
Opening your eyes whenever it feels natural to do so.
Thank yourself for showing up for this moment of presence and care.
I'm Janessa,
And it's been an honor to share this space with you.
May you carry this sense of connection with you into your body,
Your breath,
And the unfolding of your day.
Namaste.
