Welcome to this rhythm therapy meditation on entraining to the state of flow.
From a rhythmic entrainment point of view,
The state of flow lives at about 7.
4 hertz in the brainwave cycle spectrum.
So the rhythm that I'll be playing behind this meditation will be at 7.
4 beats per second.
And as usual,
There's no need to listen directly to the drumming.
But we'll team this rhythm therapy practice with a breath meditation.
Find yourself a position in which it's comfortable for you to practice this meditation.
That could be seated with the spine upright,
The mood of the body being attentive yet calm and relaxed.
You could also do this meditation laying down if you'd like.
Once you've found a position that works for you,
Allow a few breaths to draw in through the nose and a few exhales to slip out the lips.
With those exhales,
Release any surface tension which you may be sensing,
Whether that's living in the body,
In the mind,
In the emotions,
Or any other way that you might be sensing some surface tension.
When you're ready,
Allow your natural inhale and exhale to draw in and out of the nose.
And as you do this,
Allow your awareness to begin to rest on the breath.
You could even imagine that the breath is a soft bed or a soft cushion for the mind to rest on.
Allow each breath to bring a softening to the body and to the mind.
Without altering or taking control of the breath in any way,
Come to notice the tone,
The tempo,
And the rhythm of the inhale and the exhale.
Notice how the inhale effortlessly turns into the exhale.
And in turn,
The exhale effortlessly turns into the inhale.
Allow yourself to begin to loosely ride along with this rhythm and this flow of breath.
There's no need to focus too tightly or try to grab a hold of the breath.
But take a tensionless ride on that flowing wave-like movement of the inhale and the exhale.
Release any power,
Any judgment,
Any analysis,
And allow that cyclic rhythm of the experience to simply be.
Focus here for as long as you would like,
Immersed in the rhythmic,
Fluid,
Natural flow at peace.
You can just have a swing there for onehhhh,
Which is fine,
But sometimes you're notsecond of course.
