Imagine you are walking towards a winter forest.
Each step brings a deeper,
Calmer breath.
With each inhale,
You hear the crunch of the ice as you approach.
With each exhale,
The breeze is brought to rustle the tree,
Causing snow to drift down to the ground.
Now,
Listen to the stillness echo off the snow-covered ground as you enter this sanctuary.
Look around and see how the trees look.
Are they bare and dancing,
Dancing in the wind?
Are they thick and covered in snow,
Much like our minds at times?
Continue walking past the trees.
Notice now the fountain in the center of the forest.
Notice the ice that covers it.
As we take a breath in,
Notice the sun dancing off of it and the heat from your exhale.
Bring your attention to the spray of ice water from this fountain.
The spray is dancing,
Dancing in the breeze.
And as we come to the end of our journey,
Listen,
Listen to the stillness as you sit by the fountain,
Feeling the coolness,
Letting it ground you in the now.
And as we come to a close,
Sit here as long as you need,
Revisit this sanctuary in the forest at any time.
Fresh and inspired for the rest of your day,
Breathe in the icy clearness.
Your thoughts are now running smooth.
The stillness within you has given you room for new things to come.
New thoughts and ideas,
New plans and inspirations.
Your muscles have melted just a bit more,
Flexible as you move through the remainder of your day.
And as I now begin to count upward from one to five,
I invite you to fully wake,
Alert,
Aware,
And fresh.
One,
Two,
Three,
Four,
And five.
Take a stretch and a smile.
Well done,
My friend.
Well done.
