Hello there,
My friends.
This is Janice Marie.
Thank you for being with me today.
This track is going to be a little different than others I have done before,
Because this came out of a conversation I was having with a friend about an absurd thing that I was worried about.
And this happens often to me.
So,
As I was talking to my friend,
I was talking to her about this quandary that I was in about where to plant these plants that I have bought.
I don't know about you,
But sometimes even my favorite thing to do,
I can twist into a huge endeavor,
Because I worry so much about being perfect.
As I talked to her,
I fretted about where I was going to put these plants.
I was worried about putting them in the most perfect place.
I was worried so much about it that I was making myself miserable.
I don't know about you,
But sometimes I can take my favorite pastime and turn it into a project from hell.
My friend suggested that maybe I should write about this dilemma.
And what I came out of this writing was a humorous little Dr.
Seuss-like prose that I thought I would share with you.
It's called,
The Geranium Mosquito Shoe.
What should I do with my geranium mosquito shoe?
What should I do so it can woo?
It does well in Zone 9 and 10.
Oh why,
Oh why did I buy it then?
In New England in Zone 5,
It's going to be hard to keep this alive.
When I saw it at the discount price,
I thought I'd buy it not just once,
Twice,
But indeed thrice.
When I saw it in the discount bin,
I grabbed them all and in my cart they were in.
The mosquito shoe is an interesting plant.
It's pretty,
It's scented,
And keeps away the ant.
It's supposed to keep away insects,
Large and small,
But not supposed to grow that tall.
Where in the garden will this bloom?
Where it won't be sentenced to a life of doom.
Should I put it in a pot?
Should I put it in a plot?
Should I put it out for only me?
Or should I put it out for all to see?
Where,
Oh where is that perfect spot with lots of sun but not too hot?
Should I plant them separately,
One by one?
Or should I plant them all or none?
Should I plant them two by two?
Oh where,
Oh where should I plant my shoe?
I worry so much about the perfect place that wrinkles grow all over my face.
I worry so much about where to plant them that I'm losing out and enjoying my gem.
So in the garden I will go,
And where they end up,
God only knows.
Thank you for allowing me to share this with you today.
I hope it gave you a chuckle as it did for me and my friend.
Oh by the way,
The plants,
They all got planted and all of the above.
Have a great day.
