What Does It Mean To Be An Empath & What Exactly Is The Blanket Of Protection?

You know how sometimes you can actually ‘feel’ someone’s negative or sad energy and it appears to be coming straight for you? This is a trait of empaths. If you are like this, there is a way to protect yourself. And it’s all the power of your mind!

Good morning everybody!

Namaste.

Welcome to In the Flow with Lori Albert.

Today we are going to talk about what it means to be an empath and what is the blanket of protection.

So I am an empath.

And what that means is is that I feel the emotions of the people around me or I can take on.

Actually,

It's more like taking on the emotions of the people around me because what happens is is that people some people say it makes it makes you a better psychic medium but it allows me to sort of get in with and understand what is going on in people's people's hearts a little bit better.

You know what I mean?

It allows me to it allows me to understand what's going on in people in with in people.

Right?

Like you know how when you're in a room and you're talking to someone and you can just feel their anger.

You can feel that they are not happy people.

Well that is being empathic.

And so imagine taking that to like a whole other level and being you know doing light work.

You know being an empath has its perks absolutely because I it allows me to be like my intuition to be kind of a little bit more on spot.

But it also allows me to empathize with people because I can also sympathize and understand the sadness and the love.

And so there's it's positive and it's negative if that makes any sense.

So in my spiritual studies a long long time ago when I first started learning that I was an empath we can be first of all I want to say you can be an empath and be and be a light worker or you can be an empath just as somebody who doesn't do this work for a living or whatever you want to say.

Right?

You can be an empath and not know it.

That's the scary part and that's that's partially why I do what I do because I want people to understand the things that cannot be seen.

Right?

I want people to understand that.

So when you are an empath you take on the other emotions of the people around you as I said.

But there is a way to protect yourself from that.

And again if you aren't sure and you don't you don't do this work there's a way to protect yourself from that.

And that is with two things you can do.

Number one is the blanket of protection.

The blanket of protection is when you go into a place and there are just a lot of negative people around or sad people around and you know you need to protect yourself from that energy.

Right?

You can put you can just close your eyes just for a split second and imagine a blanket just covering your body the whole way around from your head to your toes and it's like a bubble.

Some people call it a bubble of protection.

I call it a blanket because it feels more comfy for me.

And that blanket does not allow any energy in or emotions in that you don't choose to get in.

And it allows you to protect yourself from negative energies like negative spirits and that sort of thing too.

So it does a lot.

It can do a lot.

And if you and I tell people for those of you who have had readings for me and stuff I talk about this a lot because we are all empathic in some sense.

Right?

And so if you feel like that you want to protect yourself from the sad energy or from the negative energy from your husband's energy your wife's energy or your children's energy this is a great tool because it doesn't allow the sadness to sink into who you are because that's really important.

We don't want that you don't want those those outside emotions coming and unless you want it to like if somebody's happy and you want that emotion bring it on you know allow that in but a lot of people don't want the negativity and the sadness in.

So that is one way of protecting yourself spiritually energetically.

Okay?

Now there's another way of protecting yourself energetically as well and that is to keep your vibration high.

Keeping your vibration really high can kind of ward off any negativity.

Right?

It helps ward it off and it helps keep it at bay because like attracts like if you keep your energy high then you're only going to attract people with high energy.

Right?

You're gonna not like the people with the negativity and the sadness all that stuff are just gonna go to the wayside.

The blanket of protection is more for like situations where you can't control it.

Like like if you're at your office or if you're in your house and somebody is in a really bad mood your spouse or your kids a lot of that going on around right now around right now.

Right?

You can control it by the blanket of protection but just generally keeping your vibration height is the way to go because it lifts you up makes you feel beautiful it makes you feel happy.

That's what is important to do.

So today's meditation is going to be about keeping our vibration high throughout the day.

Okay?

So let's get ourselves comfy and let's get yeah beautiful.

Let's take a nice really deep deep breath.

Breathe in through your nose really slow taking in all the wonderful beautiful air and breathe it out.

Let's do that again.

Nice long deep deep breath in.

Breathing in the beautiful energy from Mother Earth and breathe it out.

Very good.

So for today our meditation is about keeping our vibration high and we know that our thoughts control us.

So that's why we like to keep in a state of gratitude and happiness.

What are you grateful for today?

Like dig deep today.

Let's dig deep.

Down in your soul in your heart in your heart what are you so grateful for that it makes you weep?

For me I can't stop thinking about my mother who passed away about a year and a half ago.

I'm so grateful that she was my mother.

I'm so grateful.

She allowed me freedom and joy and fun.

What are you grateful for today?

Deep in your heart in your soul.

And what makes you happy?

Just in your life what brings you happiness?

A bowl of soup,

Cup of coffee,

A baby's laughter.

What brings you happiness and joy?

Doesn't that just bring a smile to your face?

So for our mantra today as we sit in the silence our mantra today is one that I hope you take with you all day today and repeat it over and over again for yourself.

I am happy.

And if you repeat it over and over again and a smile does not come to your face at least eventually give it all up.

Give it all up to spirit.

I am happy.

I am joyful.

So if you lose yourself in the mantra you start thinking of other things that make you happy that's absolutely okay.

Just bring yourself back to the mantra I am happy.

I will keep the time.

And let's begin.

I am happy.

Let's start bringing our awareness back to our bodies and our hearts.

Let's place some attention on our hearts.

As we do that let's take a nice long deep deep breath in.

Breathing in all the love and the joy and the happiness and breathe it out to the world so that maybe others in the world will be just as happy as we feel right now.

When you feel comfortable you can open your eyes.

I hope that you can take this mantra in your life with you today and if you feel yourself around negative people say to yourself I am happy I am joyful and watch that smile come to your face and it can change the world or your world at least.

So I appreciate you all being with me today so so much.
