
Happiness 101

Ever notice that when you are happy, the people around you are happy? Why is that? It’s simple… the highest vibration wins! Today, it's "create your own mantra" day! What do you choose for yourself today? Make sure it's high vibration!

Namaste everybody.
Welcome to In The Flow with Lori Albert.
Today we're gonna talk about happiness.
When you wake up in the morning,
What is your first emotion?
Like are you happy?
Are you grumpy?
Are you sleepy?
Which which dwarf are you?
Are you Doc?
You know?
What are you?
Like do you find yourself waking up in the morning happy?
Do you find yourself in the morning waking up like grumpy?
Like seriously,
That's a really interesting thing and I'll tell you why.
First of all,
I wake up in the morning and first of all I'm kind of I'm known as a happy medium right?
I'm a medium.
I'm kind of always happy right?
But my secret is the secret that a lot of people don't necessarily know is that I don't wake up happy.
Like my poor husband,
He'll be like good morning and I'll be like and I know I've said that before.
I know I said that before but I just don't wake up happy.
However I do wake up and say thank you.
So it's kind of interesting because they're they're they're mutually exclusive right?
They're they're different you know happiness,
Thankfulness,
Gratitude right?
They're different but yet they come together and they mean something together you know?
So I just find that really fascinating.
So yeah right now here's the next thing I want to say about happiness is that well the first thing I actually I want to go back to that because I didn't make the actual point that I wanted to make is that when you start out being grateful and if you if you go into that grateful mode right off the bat then you tend to get quote-unquote happier right?
So there's a happiness that kind of comes with that.
When you're grateful it raises your vibration right?
It raises your vibration.
So when you wake up and if you're not happy you go to that grateful mode like thank you right?
You go to that thankful mode and then all of a sudden you can feel your your vibration starting to raise and then you get happy and that's what happens with me I hope anyway most of the time right?
But I will say here's the second thing I was gonna say I'm not happy all the time and I don't think anybody is right?
Who is happy 100% of the time?
Not everybody.
However there's something that happens and you you guys like I wonder how many of you get this and are this way.
When I'm in a happy mood other people around me tend to I feel like that they're happy not because I'm this great happy person but it just seems like that like attracts like right?
It's like the law of attraction like attracts like.
However when I'm grumpy the same thing happens again like attracts like.
So like I'll be grumpy like a couple weeks ago I was was not feeling well and so I wasn't I was grumpy then all of a sudden it's like everybody in the whole house was grumpy and I was just like seriously can't somebody be in a good mood around me?
And you know what it's interesting is that I go back to what David G talks about highest vibration wins right?
The highest vibration wins.
If you are happy or if you are joyful it oozes out of you.
It oozes out of all of us.
Don't you think?
You know I just find that to be so freaking fascinating.
It's so fascinating because the highest vibration really does win.
When I heard David G say that for the first time I thought really is that true?
But it's true.
It's absolutely true.
So we are going to meditate on happiness today because isn't that better than the alternative right?
I don't know.
For me I have a whole like thought process on happiness.
I know this might sound kind of crazy.
Who sits around and contemplates happiness like I do?
But I do.
I really do.
Do we really want to be happy?
Who around you when okay of your like circle of people?
There are the people that are happy all the time.
There are the people that seem to be a little grumpy all the time.
And there are those people that are just like go in the middle right?
Like that all the time or most of the time right?
Are we where we want to be?
Like those people that are generally happy most of the time are they that way because they want to be?
Or is it their DNA?
Same thing with the people that are grumpy.
Is it just is it just sort of in bred in them?
Like is it sort of just that way for them?
I don't know.
It's an interesting contemplative thought.
I don't have the answer.
I know what I think I believe right?
But I don't have the answer to that.
And it's just so fascinating to me because it's so fascinating to me because I choose happy.
What do you choose?
What do you choose?
Do you choose happy?
Do you choose grumpy?
Do you choose grateful?
Do you choose joy?
What do you choose on a daily basis?
And honestly,
Truthfully,
There is no right or wrong answer there.
It just is what it is.
But it's an interesting thing to contemplate and to I don't say focus on but like like think about like on a daily basis like on a minute by minute basis.
Not that you're gonna do this on a minute by minute basis but several times throughout your day.
Think to yourself,
Oh am I happy?
Am I grumpy?
Am I joyful?
What am I?
It's a really interesting thing to contemplate right?
Because it helps you get an idea as to where you are in your life.
Ooh that's so deep.
Who thought who would ever thought that happiness can be deep?
Right?
So okay so we are going to meditate on this right?
So let's go.
Let's all get comfortable.
Sit back.
Get your blankie.
Whatever makes you comfortable.
Your pillow.
You can lay down.
You can be sitting up cross-legged.
I love sitting cross-legged.
That's just my comfy place.
I don't know why but it is.
Close your eyes whenever it feels right for you.
Perfect.
Now let's take a deep breath in.
Very gently and slowly and release it.
Perfect.
Hopefully that calms us down.
Puts us in sort of a receiving mode right?
So let's go to gratitude today.
I'm gonna challenge ourselves a little bit.
What is one thing that you are grateful for and let's have it be not something not like your coffee or your family or your house or your car.
Go deep.
Let's go a little bit deep today.
What is one thing in your life it's not surface level that you are really grateful for?
It could be anything.
You know what mine is?
Mine is I was introduced and this is a long time ago 20 probably about 22 years ago or so.
I was introduced to meditation.
Changed my life.
What are you grateful for?
Go a little deep.
Dig in there.
And now I'd like for us we're going to create our own mantra today.
What is a way of being that you would like to strive for today?
If you have a lot on your plate or you're gonna be you know it's gonna be a busy day or you know you get to relax today.
What is a higher vibration that you can strive for?
You can strive to be happy.
You can strive to be peaceful.
You can strive to be joyful or loving.
What is a state of being that you would like to focus on being today?
Do you have it?
So for my purposes I choose happy.
But what do you choose?
You can choose whatever higher vibration to focus on today as your mantra.
Today I choose whatever it is.
For me it's happy.
Today I choose happy.
And that is our mantra for today.
So as we sit in the stillness we have our mantra.
I will keep the time.
And let's begin saying it over and over again to ourselves.
Today I choose happy.
Today I choose joy.
Whatever it is for you today I choose.
I will keep the time and let's begin.
You you you you you you Let's start bringing our awareness back to our bodies.
Take a nice slow deep breath in really gentle and release.
Beautiful.
When you feel comfortable you can open your eyes.
So today as you go throughout your day keep saying to yourself recognize where you're where you are vibrationally.
Think about where you are.
Are you happy?
Are you peaceful?
Are you joyful?
Whatever it is.
And then continue the mantra the rest of the day and see how your day ends up.
So thank you for joining today.
