Mindfulness, Meditation & Source Consciousness #4

Cosa imparerai
This is the fourth module in my course Mindfulness, Meditation, and Source Consciousness. It is for beginners, as well as seasoned meditation practitioners who would like fresh, 'beginner's mind' inspiration for their practice. This module will cover: How to use breath as a way to pause and return to yourself intermittently throughout your day with a secular mindfulness method called the Three Minute Breathing Space. The differences and crossovers between Mindfulness and Meditation and why they are important to each other. The importance of pre-meditation preparation to make yourself as comfortable as possible, and the necessity of thoroughly relaxing and grounding your body before you use your support. You will experience a guided breath meditation focusing on the different sensations created by breath in the body. You will understand why using breath as a support can be challenging. You will be signposted to breathing methods that can help you get on good terms with your breath and also alternatives to using the breath as a meditation support. In the final course, you will be introduced to the sequence of changes that happen to your breath and sensations in your body as your meditation goes deeper. This is a stand-alone course but if you haven’t completed modules #1, #2, and #3, I suggest that they will give you a good grounding in both understanding and experience to equip you for this one.

Lezione 1
A Mini Meditation - The Three Minute Breathing Space
In this lesson, you are introduced to a tool that you can use intermittently throughout your day whenever you need to pause and take a breather called 'The Three Minute Breathing Space.' You will be acquainted with its benefits and be invited to have a 'walk through' experience.
Lezione 2
The Differences And Overlap Between Mindfulness And Meditation
In this lesson, we explore the differences and subtle crossovers between Mindfulness and Meditation. You will learn why it is good to build both of them into your daily practice and how they are equally important for strengthening your 'Mindfulness Muscle.' We also look at the importance of always including thorough relaxation and grounding before you meditate to create a strong platform of awareness so that your mind doesn't become dull or diffuse.
Lezione 3
A Guided Meditation Using Breath As Your Support
In this lesson, you will experience a guided meditation using breath as your support, built around the different ways the breath can be felt as it enters and leaves the body. Also included is a consideration of how to create a supportive environment for yourself to maximize your comfort, so that your body doesn't become a distraction as your mind goes deeper.
Lezione 4
The Challenges Of Using Breath As A Support
In this lesson, we explore why the breath can be challenging to use as a meditation support. We will begin with an overview of the unconscious ways many of us restrict the amount of breath we take in, and the impact respiratory illnesses and trauma may also have. For those who don't want to use the breath at all for meditation, you are signposted to other support options.
Lezione 5
The Indicators That Let You Know You Your Meditation Has Gone Deeper
In this lesson, we examine the territory of where meditation can take you. I lay out a sequence of indicators you can look out for along the way, of what happens to your breath and body sensations as your mind settles and your meditation unfolds. This will give you a sense of the fascinating places meditation can take us. I also offer practical ways in which you can respond if you unexpectedly find yourself in deeper mind states.
