This guided meditation is an invitation to gift yourself a visual sensory journey. Bringing presence and awareness to your breath and senses, I invite you to imagine yourself by the ocean. Featuring my guided facilitation and gentle hang drum music, I invite you to follow the visual scene that your imagination and subconscious bring to your awareness and be open to receiving any messages. You may like to have your journal or drawing materials close by, to capture or reflect upon your experience.

This visual sensory meditation is an invitation for you to dedicate this intentional time to your inner world.

I will guide you on a short journey where with curiosity,

The use of your imagination and mind's eye,

You can be open to receiving messages from your subconscious.

Begin in a comfortable seated position.

I invite you to bring your attention to your breath.

Feel the rise and fall of your breath.

Notice the quality of your breath.

And with each exhalation,

Allow your body to relax a little more,

Sinking more comfortably into the ground that holds you.

Now I invite you to bring your attention to your connection with the earth,

Imagining that you are sat upon a warm sand.

Run your fingers over and through this warm sand,

Picking up the sand grains,

Allowing them to slide down and through your fingers.

Curling and uncurling your toes against this texture,

Your heels firmly embedded in its warmth.

Feel the slight breeze of the ocean air as it caresses over your skin.

You can hear the sound of waves as the tide comes in and goes back out again.

Feel the warmth of the sun above you as it shines on your face and you lean in welcoming its touch.

Take a moment to notice how your body is responding to these new sensations.

As you open your eyes to the landscape,

Be curious to how the ocean before you is moving.

What are your eyes drawn to?

What do you notice?

What feelings are present as you watch how the waves are moving?

As you gaze out,

Taking in all of the elements,

You feel an urge to explore further.

Rising to your feet,

You begin to slowly walk down and along the water's edge.

Feel the grainy warm and wet textures under your feet,

Sinking ever so slightly with each step,

Leaving your footprints as you make your way.

Walking along,

Up ahead you notice the shimmer and shine of a shell.

You pick it up for closer inspection and your eyes and fingers run over the beautiful spiral pattern.

As you place it back down on the sand,

You notice there is another one,

And just up ahead of you,

You spot another.

You playfully follow along what appears to be a curious trail of different colored spiral shells.

The last shell you find is shimmering brightly,

Illuminating the entrance to a cave.

You look up at the cave's entrance and hesitate only for a moment as something inside of you reassures you that you are safe and that the cave has something inside that you need to see.

With wide eyes,

You walk forward,

Your hands leading the way,

Caressing the rock walls.

You are now inside the cave and you take your time to look around in awe of what you see.

There is something there just for you and you walk eagerly towards it.

Take your time to engage with what you have found.

As you look upon it,

Perhaps you hold it,

However you are engaging with what is there for you.

Be open now to receiving any messages.

There is Offer gratitude to the cave for the gift it has shared and slowly begin to make your way back out into the sunshine.

Take some intentional breaths to integrate your experience.

Now gently bring your awareness back to the room you are sitting in.

Feel your connection with the ground,

Your breath as your anchor.

Start to engage your other senses as you bring yourself gently back.

You are safe,

You are held,

You are supported.

You may like to take the time now to journal or create from your experience.
