Shaving A Northwest A you Raja yoga meditation is a very easy simple way to meditate when I meditate I'm doing something that I do throughout the day thinking but when I meditate I try to use my thoughts in a positive way to begin to use the mind how I want to use it not just how I'm used to using it so first of all I sit comfortably relaxed allowing all the tensions to slip away feeling all the muscles lengthening,

Relaxing just gently breathing in and out as I breathe in feeling that I'm breathing in relaxation and as I breathe out just letting out tensions checking all my favorite tension spots my neck,

Shoulders,

Stomach making sure my jaw isn't clenched too tightly,

Just relaxing letting my body quietly come to rest and now I imagine myself in some very peaceful place my special place,

Real or imaginary sometimes I experience this place as if I'm really there at times it's as if I'm outside my body looking at myself sometimes I just get a feeling of where I am doesn't matter which way I imagine it maybe all three methods are combined but I let the feeling of peace wash over me and I notice that my thoughts seem to be more concentrated and originating from somewhere around my forehead I let my thoughts concentrate around this area as I focus my thoughts it's as if that area of thought is becoming smaller and more concentrated until I become a little pinpoint of thought energy so small and powerful and alert and so peaceful I imagine myself to be a tiny point of light,

Powerful concentrated light energy like a laser beam or a star,

Constantly emitting light I enjoy this feeling of light I begin to wonder what sort of person I am what sort of qualities I have I have many qualities maybe not all are fully developed in me but the potential of all qualities is within me as I choose to recognise a particular quality in myself then I can nurture it and make it become more apparent in my personality so just for a moment I consider my qualities some which I would like to develop more fully perhaps tolerance or enthusiasm or happiness perhaps seeing only the good in others so many qualities and now I choose one of those qualities what's it like to have this quality?

How does it make me feel when I express this quality?

How does it affect others?

What circumstances cause this quality to be suppressed in me?

If I can identify these circumstances then I can prepare myself so I'll be ready,

Careful not to get drawn into those same weak spots in my personality I imagine a scene in my mind where I could use this quality and some circumstance prevents me and now in my mind I can see how I could behave how I could transform that situation I rehearse a new scene in my mind I can see now that I have this quality within me I have this quality constantly and I'm constantly giving this quality to others in my thoughts,

In my words in my actions I am the embodiment of this quality I am a beautiful being of light constantly emitting this wonderful quality of mine a point of light sending out rays of light filled with this quality powerful rays of light filling the world of light which surrounds me and around this point of light slowly I imagine a body made of light not atoms not molecules just beautiful light and at the center of that beautiful body of light I sit sending out light and more light through my body of light and out into the world and very gently I allow one tiny ray of light one little thought to return to my physical body as I sit here and then another thought follows and my consciousness slowly returns to this body this room and I sit here in my body peaceful alert refreshed peaceful you you you
