This is a grounding meditation, allowing you to connect to your root chakra. The root chakra represents our foundation, inner home, and sense of security. It is located at the base of your spine. This meditation allows you to connect to this chakra, balance it and increase its energy using visualisation and affirmations. Some prior meditation experience is required. This meditation allows for a greater sense of groundedness, more abundance, and alleviation of anxiety and fears.

Welcome to this grounding meditation.

My name is Fanny Hochsteiger and I'll be guiding you through this inner journey.

Be sure to turn off your phone and remove any other possible distractions to make sure you will not be disturbed for the upcoming 15 minutes.

You can pause this audio now to get ready.

Then move yourself into a comfortable seat,

Maybe sitting yourself up on a cushion on the floor or mat.

Otherwise sitting up straight in a chair will also do.

Making sure your spine is fully elongated with your crown reaching towards the ceiling.

Like a king or queen sitting in a throne.

Once you've found your comfortable seat you can start to close down your eyes and start disconnecting from your surroundings as you connect to your inner world.

Feel your sitting bones connecting you to the surface underneath you and feel how you're being supported by the earth in this very moment.

Breathing into gravity,

Allowing your body to just be held.

Then notice your breathing.

Where in your body do you feel your breath?

Maybe you feel your breath is somewhat shallow and you feel it up in your chest.

Or perhaps you notice that your breathing is deep,

Allowing your belly to expand with every inhalation.

Whatever it is that you experience,

Just observing it.

There's no right or wrong.

No judgement.

Then notice if your breathing is irregular.

Taking note without having to change anything about it.

Then move your attention towards the base of your spine or root chakra.

Take a few deeper breaths into this area,

With every in-breath allowing the air to move all the way from your nostrils through your throat,

Lungs into the base of your spine.

And on your exhalation you allow this energy in your root chakra to expand.

You imagine this chakra as a sphere of red light being filled with energy with every inhalation and expanding further with every exhalation.

Breathing in red energy,

Breathing out expand.

Breathing in red energy,

Breathing out expand.

Practice mentally while you remain focused on your root chakra.

And breathing in red energy,

Red energy is expanding at the base of my spine.

And breathing in red energy,

Exhale red energy is expanding at the base of my spine.

Slowly repeat this.

Now as you breathe in you start repeating I feel safe and strong.

Breathe out I feel safe and strong.

Mentally repeat this.

Breathe in I feel secure and connected to my body.

Breathe out I feel secure and connected to my body.

Slowly repeat while you remain focused on the area of your root chakra.

Breathe in I welcome abundance in all areas of my life.

Breathe out I welcome abundance in all areas of my life.

Slowly repeat while you remain focused on your root.

Breathe in I love the earth and I know the earth loves me.

Breathe out I love the earth and I know the earth loves me.

Slowly repeat while you remain focused on your root chakra.

Now as you keep your attention focused at the base of your spine you start to see a root growing out of this area.

Moving deep into the layers of the earth.

With every inhalation seeing this root grow deeper into the earth.

With every exhalation seeing this root branch out into the dainty roots going down.

Inhale root growing deeper.

Exhale root is branching out.

You start to sense that you are reaching the center of the earth now.

On your next inhalation you can feel your root grasping onto the center.

Melting into it.

You feel completely connected to the center.

As you feel a sense of familiarity coming over you.

And as you now breathe in you can feel the energy of this center moving all the way up.

Reaching the base of your spine.

And on your out breath spreading this energy into your root.

Inhale you take everything you need from this earthly core.

You take it up.

Exhale expand.

Inhale I take what I need from this core.

Exhale I expand this energy.

Your next inhalation checking into what you sense in your root chakra now.

Taking some moments to integrate your experience.

Deepening your breathing now.

Taking your consciousness back to the space you're sitting in.

Knowing that this loving center is always here to support you whenever you feel anxious,

Unsafe or ungrounded.
