This is a place where your sadness is allowed.
You don't have to hide it.
You don't have to explain it.
You don't have to push it away.
Sadness is not weakness.
It doesn't mean something's broken.
It's a messenger.
It asks you to slow down and feel.
And so starting by finding a position that feels good to you.
You can be sitting or lying down.
Wherever your body can soften it.
Letting your hands rest naturally.
And closing your eyes.
Or softening your gaze towards the floor.
Whichever feels best to you.
And taking a slow gentle breath in through the nose.
And a long exhale through the mouth.
Really letting yourself arrive.
And as you land right here.
Noticing where in your body.
You're holding fat in it.
Wherever you locate it.
Bringing your attention there.
Maybe placing a hand gently there.
I'm starting to breathe into that area.
Letting your breath meet the sadness.
You're not trying to change it.
Just being with it.
Just breath.
Just presence.
Sadness can feel like heaviness.
Quiet 8.
Tightness in the throat.
Ears pressing at the edge of your eyes.
Or maybe a numbness that hides everything.
Whatever you notice.
Welcoming it all.
You're not too much.
You're not wrong for feeling.
Letting each inhale offer space.
Letting each exhale soften any weight.
Just continuing in this way.
Noticing how your breath can hold sadness.
Without collapsing under it.
You're not trying to cheer yourself up.
You're simply saying,
I'm here.
It's safe to feel.
Letting your breath meet any sadness.
Allowing it to be held.
If tears come.
Let them come.
And if they don't?
That's okay,
Too.
Letting the breath be your guide.
Inhaling,
Being with what's here.
Exhaling,
Allowing anything that's ready to move through to move through.
You don't need to make sense of it all.
You're not a puzzle to be solved.
You got to be out.
Your emotions get to be felt.
They get to move through.
Just staying with that breath.
Letting your breath do the holding.
Letting your hand be the reassurance.
Few more brats like this.
Meeting those tender parts with each breath.
Soothing.
Softening.
Letting all those parts feel held.
And then gently letting the breath return to its natural rhythm.
Letting go of any effort.
Letting yourself just be.
Each time you take time to pause and be with what's here.
It's an act of love.
So really honoring yourself for that.
And taking as much time here.
As your body wants or needs.
Only when you're ready.
Opening your eyes.
Returning to your space.
