That's something that many of us weren't taught and we really should have been taught is how to feel our emotions consciously.
Most of the time,
If you ask somebody how they're feeling,
They will say,
Good,
Or they'll label a physical feeling to it.
And we think that's feeling,
But ultimately,
When we learn to feel the emotion without giving it meaning,
Without going into the story,
Not only does the emotion move,
The energy and motion move,
But the stories fall away.
We get caught in the thinking,
We get caught in the mind trying to fix,
Trying to solve,
Trying to understand,
Trying to be somebody and that can pervade our experience to the point where it can keep us up at night,
It can make us unwell.
By learning to feel the emotion without giving it meaning,
It's like I'm feeling anxious,
Okay,
Just feel anxious.
Without going into the story,
I'm feeling anxious because you did this or because I've got this coming up.
As we practice to feel the emotion without giving it meaning,
Stories fall away,
The stories move.
And so when we practice meeting the moment to feel the emotion without a story,
Then it's collapsing the mental programs that are keeping us stuck.
And not only that,
It's connecting us to that which underlies all things,
Which feels more like love,
Feels more like wholeness,
It feels more like connection,
Feels more like an arrival,
Feels more like our authentic self.
So this is the practice,
Is to feel,
To consciously feel,
And the importance of feeling our emotions.
