So you're awake,
It's the mind,
The mind's rolling over,
Trying to fix,
Trying to solve,
Trying to understand,
And at the same time it's likely running programs showing you all the places where you're not enough,
And at the same time then trying to fix,
Trying to solve,
Trying to understand,
It's part of the human condition.
You are not alone,
It's just the mind.
And so here with this simple practice we call meeting the moment,
We're going to collapse the mental programs,
And so if you find yourself awake,
Unable to sleep,
Rolling around in the mind,
Do this.
We bring our attention inwards,
And then tuning into the emotion,
What's the emotion that's most alive for you in this moment?
See if you can label it,
Or calling it out,
Ah,
This is the emotion that I'm feeling.
And then without going into a story,
Without making it right or wrong,
Just feel it,
Allow it,
It's energy in motion,
It's emotion,
We feel it.
Mental programs are often triggered by past experience,
They trigger thoughts which then activate emotions which then drive behavior,
We go round and round in these loops.
And so here,
We're going to collapse those mental loops by just feeling without going into a story.
And so then in this moment,
What are you feeling now?
Just acknowledge it,
Label it,
And then allow it,
Feel it.
And then in this moment,
What are you feeling now?
Acknowledge it,
And feel it.
Your biology will take care of the rest,
And take you back into your sleep cycle.
Once we collapse the mental programs of the mind,
So moment to moment,
Just feel the emotion.
Acknowledge it,
Label it,
And without making it right or wrong,
Or going into a story trying to understand why it's there,
We just feel it.
And in this moment,
What are you feeling now?
If ever you find yourself awake,
Bring your attention inwards,
Tune into the emotion that's alive,
And feel it,
Without going into a story,
Without making it right or wrong,
Just allow it,
Moment to moment,
And you'll find yourself awakening from a restful sleep.
Sweet dreams.
