I want you to sit or lie comfortably somewhere and just close your eyes.
My instructions are very simple before we begin.
When I ask you to breathe in,
I want you to breathe in deep and fill your lungs fully to the full capacity.
When I ask you to breathe out,
I want you to blow everything out until you reach the very end of that breath.
So let's give this a try now.
Take a deep breath in and in and in and in,
Stop and blow out and out and out and out and again.
Take a deep breath in and in and in and stop and blow out and out and out and out.
Once more,
Take a deep breath in and in and in and in and stop and blow out and out and out and out.
Did you know that breathing correctly can relieve all tension anywhere in the body?
When you focus your attention on your breathing,
You can relate that breathing to a particular area of the body.
You do this by concentrating on that area of tension as you breathe in deeply,
And then releasing that tension as you breathe out fully.
This implies to any stressed thoughts you may have.
A tense thought can be concentrated on as you breathe in deeply,
And that tense thought can be exhaled as you breathe out fully.
To make this process even more powerful,
You can visualize any tension as coloured smoke.
Black smoke being a deep,
Rooted tension or event that is affecting you.
Grey smoke being a recent tension or event that is affecting you.
Or white smoke that is a minor irritation or event that is causing you tension.
I want you to choose the colour you wish to work with today.
Allow this subconscious to choose the colour by just allowing that colour to emerge in your mind.
I will allow you some time to choose now.
Let's begin by relaxing the body first and finding your centre.
I want you to focus your attention on your feet.
Notice any tension in your feet as you breathe in gently.
Feel the tension leave you as you breathe out gently.
And again,
Notice any tension in your feet as you breathe in gently.
And feel that tension leave you as you breathe out gently.
Now work your way up to your legs.
Notice any tension in your legs as you breathe in gently.
And notice that tension leave you as you breathe out gently.
And again,
Notice any tension in your legs as you breathe in gently.
And notice that tension leave you as you breathe out gently.
As you move up to reach the middle section of the body,
Notice any tension in that area as you breathe in gently.
And notice that tension leaving you as you breathe out gently.
Now do this again.
Notice any tension in that area as you breathe in gently.
And notice it leaving you as you breathe out gently.
And arrive at the chest area of the body.
Notice any tension in that area as you breathe in gently.
And notice that tension leaving you as you breathe out gently.
Now do this again.
Notice any tension in that area as you breathe in gently.
And notice that tension leave you as you breathe out gently.
You now arrive at the neck and shoulder area of the body.
Notice any tension in that area as you breathe in gently.
And feel it leave you as you breathe out gently.
Now just take a look around the body and notice any part that might have a little tension.
Gently breathe in as you notice this.
And gently breathe out as it becomes relaxed.
And now you are in the chest area of the body.
Notice any tension in that area as you breathe in gently.
And notice any tension in that area as you breathe out gently.
And now you are in the chest area of the body.
And notice any tension in that area as you breathe in gently.
Do you remember I asked you to choose a colour of smoke?
I want you to relate that colour to attention or revenge or problem you are having today.
See that problem as the colour of that smoke.
In a moment I am going to ask you to take full deep breath in.
And fill your lungs with beautiful clean air.
I will then ask you to exhale that thought,
That colour,
That smoke.
And see it leave you like the puff of smoke rising into the air.
Watch as the smoke rises into the air and disappears.
With every breath you take I want you to visualise that smoke.
Get a lighter and lighter colour until it becomes clear and the problem you had attached to it no longer bothers you today.
So let's begin.
See that colour attached to the problem.
Now breathe in deeply and fill your lungs with clean fresh air.
Breathe out fully and watch that smoke leave you and dissipate into nothingness.
Now breathe in again deeply and fill your lungs with that clean fresh air.
Breathe out fully and watch that smoke leave you and dissipate into nothingness.
Now breathe in again deeply and fill your lungs with clean fresh air.
Breathe out fully and watch that colour change to a lighter colour and dissipate into nothingness.
Now keep breathing in deeply and fill your lungs with clean fresh air.
And breathe out fully until the colour becomes clear and the problem related to that colour is completely gone.
Now breathe in deeply and fill your lungs with clean fresh air.
Breathe out fully and watch that smoke leave you and dissipate into nothingness.
Now breathe in again deeply and fill your lungs with clean fresh air.
Now breathe out fully and watch that smoke leave you and dissipate into nothingness.
