Just taking a moment to spend perhaps five minutes or so on gratitude wherever this lands for you in your day,
Maybe the morning,
Maybe the evening,
But wherever you are in your day you can always take time for gratitude.
Gratitude is what got me through my journey,
It gets me through each day,
It changed my mindset,
It changed my life.
So perhaps just taking a moment to close your eyes down.
When we close our eyes down we instantly shut out the outside world and it enables us to go inward.
Perhaps even closing our ears down to the outside world,
Becoming aware of our own breath and the sounds of our breath,
The sounds of our body.
Just taking a moment to become aware of your breath,
The fact that you are breathing,
Just following the breath in through the nostrils to the lungs,
To the belly and as you exhale in that sense of letting go,
Perhaps softening the jaw,
Softening the shoulders.
And now just take your moment to be grateful,
Bring a sense of gratitude,
Grateful for the fact that you woke up today,
Grateful for your breath that nourishes you and keeps you going every day,
For the breath that is your anchor and your home.
I am grateful for this day,
For this breath,
I'm grateful for the roof over my head,
Doesn't have to be fancy,
All it has to do is provide me with shelter and I'm grateful for that.
I'm grateful for the food in my belly that nourishes me.
Taking a moment to focus on your body and being grateful for this body that rejuvenates itself,
That's so forgiving.
Grateful for my legs,
For these feet that carry me through each day,
These amazing legs that hold me up.
They may not be the perfect dimple-free legs that I hope for but they do an amazing job and I'm so grateful to have two legs.
I'm grateful to have arms,
Hands,
Fingers,
A mouth to express,
Ears that hear,
Eyes that see beauty,
A mind that I can work with.
Full gratitude for myself in this moment and for the choices I choose to make every day for myself and for this journey,
These choices that are mine.
Grateful for this day,
For every opportunity that will show up today that may be challenging.
Grateful that I now have the opportunity to respond to each situation,
Knowing that I'll never get it perfect,
I'll never perhaps get it completely right but I do my best.
Grateful for the love in my life,
Perhaps thinking about two people in my life that I love and who love me,
Even if that person's no longer with us.
To have gratitude for the fact that there was that love,
Just receiving and feeling that love and that gratitude for that love and knowing that I am worthy of that love.
Feeling grateful for this life,
For the journey so far and for the journey that's ahead.
And now just let it arise in your own mind,
Three things you're truly grateful for in this moment.
And when you're ready,
Taking another inhale in through the nose,
Into the belly,
Sighing it out,
Putting a smile on your dial.
One more time,
Just having gratitude for this day.
