This meditation is from The People Pleaser's Guide to Putting Yourself First by Hollie Azzopardi. This is a little exercise to guide you into what an intuitive ‘yes’ and ‘no’ feel like in your body. Remember, our intuition communicates to us through bodily signs, cues and sensations. If we get clear on these, we can start to act more from the feels rather than the thoughts.

Find a comfortable seat or lay down,

Gently closing your eyes.

First,

Take a big deep belly breath in and let go on the exhale.

Let's do that twice more together.

Breathe in deeply through your nose,

Feeling your belly,

And exhale with a sigh through the mouth.

One more.

Beautiful.

Now allow your breath to drop into its natural rhythm.

Take some time to connect with the breath without any rush.

Just allow the breath to settle your nervous system and calm the mind,

Remembering that if thoughts arise,

They are part of the process.

Simply observe them without judgment.

Notice the part of you that is separate to your thoughts.

Now can you recall a time in your life,

Perhaps a time coming up or one from the past,

Where you said yes to something that deep down you wish you said no to?

Perhaps this was a draining catch up with a friend when you really wanted downtime,

Or maybe this was accepting poor behavior from a loved one.

Recall that experience.

Bring it to the front of your mind.

And once there,

Start to observe the sensations happening in your body.

Where does this experience live?

What sensations,

Feelings,

Or emotions are moving through you right now?

How do you feel?

Now very gently deepening the breath,

Still keeping those feelings at the forefront of your mind,

Start to bring your awareness back to the space you're in.

And in your book or journal,

Jot down all of the feelings moving through you right now.

These feelings you have captured are your intuitive no sensations.

The sensations that communicate to you when a decision,

Person,

Or opportunity is not aligned.

Now when you have all these captured,

Close your eyes and take a moment to gently stretch or shake to move this energy through your system.

Beautiful.

Once that's done,

Start to connect with the breath once more.

Breathing in deeply through the nose and out through the mouth.

Allow your emotions,

Feelings,

And breath to settle.

Use the exhale breath to release any tension or stagnant energy.

Perhaps take an audible sigh or two to really move that energy through you.

Once you've settled your breath back down,

Allow your mind to call upon an experience you've had recently,

Or one on the horizon,

That you feel deeply excited by.

It feels aligned,

Inspiring,

And expansive.

Notice here what is happening in your body.

What is moving or shifting?

What are the sensations,

Feelings,

Or emotions?

How do you feel?

Once you feel connected with these sensations,

Start to deepen the breath and very gradually bring yourself back into the space.

In your book or journal,

List all of the feelings and sensations running through your system right now.

These are your intuitive yes sensations,

The way your body communicates a yes to you.
