Hello and welcome.
My name's Hayley.
And this meditation will be about holding space for yourself.
I'm really happy that you're here,
Making time for yourself.
And I hope that this meditation will help you to continue holding that space for the rest of today and the rest of the week I'd like to start by saying that many of us do give ourselves to others,
But we don't always receive what we give.
And although we might feel good when we can be there for others,
For our children,
For our parents,
Perhaps our clients,
Our friends,
It can still be easy to over give,
Especially if we're people pleasers or We might worry about letting people down.
And perhaps others aren't aware of how much we give.
They may not have boundaries.
So it can be up to us to set those boundaries and that can be hard.
So it can be helpful to learn how to hold space for yourself and to make space for yourself.
So focus your awareness on your breathing.
Perhaps noticing how your body moves as you inhale and exhale.
Perhaps you're noticing how your chest moves or your shoulders.
And as you pay attention to the breath and the body,
Just see if you can relax the body loosen your shoulders,
Loosen your jaw relax the forehead and be present.
Knowing that right now you can let go of your to-do list you can let go of conversations that you've already had today This is time for you.
And if it feels good,
You might want to breathe into the lower belly.
Breathing into the sides of the ribs.
Expanding your inhale.
And expanding your exhale.
Even breathing,
Awareness is holding space taking this time to be with yourself,
To be with your body and if you are still thinking about your to-do list or feeling restless that's okay to allow the imperfections you have permission to exist just as you are I invite you now to imagine that you have a glowing yellow light in your heart space.
And this light is warm and it represents love.
Compassion,
Kindness.
And it feels like a warm hug.
It has this,
Soft.
Energy It's protective.
It's comfortable.
You might imagine it pulsating or swirling.
And you're really feeling the warmth,
Feeling that hug energy.
And each time you inhale imagine that you are receiving this warmth and compassion from this ball of light you're receiving the same thing that you normally give to others.
Care.
Compassion.
Permission.
And as you exhale allow that ball of light to expand expanding throughout your body.
.
.
.
In every direction.
It's expanding upwards,
Downwards.
Out of your heart,
Out of your back.
And as you inhale you're receiving the feeling of love,
Compassion.
And as you exhale,
Your heart is expanding.
As you inhale,
You receive kindness.
Acceptance.
As you exhale the light expands as you inhale that warm hug feels stronger You feel soothed and held.
As you exhale,
The light is filling up your body all the way from the toes to the top of the head.
So you are literally glowing And the light is now becoming an aura around your body.
It's holding you.
And just keep breathing in and out,
Receiving and expanding.
The more that you receive,
The more your heart expands.
The more your heart expands,
The more you receive.
And once you're feeling safe and enveloped in this light You might like to ask yourself.
.
.
Question.
What do you need right now?
What have you not allowed yourself to receive?
What do you need?
Perhaps you're finding it hard to ask for help.
Perhaps you're struggling to receive love from others or even from yourself.
What can you allow in?
And before we bring this to a close I'd like to invite you to make yourself a promise just one thing that you will allow yourself to receive or one thing that you will stop waiting for permission to do.
And you can now let go of the visualisation,
Let go of the aura let go of the promise and just rest in open awareness for a few more moments and whenever you're ready you can bring yourself back into The room,
Open your eyes.
And thank you for being with me with this meditation.
