Today I wanted to talk about the quote,
Though we live in what is,
We constantly think ourselves into what isn't.
Now this is from the second book of the Dow by Stephen Mitchell,
And I just really love that,
Though we live in what is,
We think ourselves into what isn't.
And in the original Tao Te Ching,
There's a line that says,
Stop thinking and end your problems.
And so all of our suffering,
It seems arises in our mind.
It arises in the story that we tell ourselves about ourself.
It arises in the story that we tell ourselves about everyone and everything else.
And when we're able to just pause and have wordless awareness and look around and be and radically accept reality as it is,
Before we bring our judgment and our perceptions and all this other thought into it.
That is where peace is.
So though we actually live in what is,
We think ourselves into what isn't.
So today,
Can you bring a level of awareness to all of the ways in which you might think yourself into what isn't and come back to reality exactly as it is?
