Today I wanted to read one of my favorite lines from The Doubt Aging,
The version that is translated by Stephen Mitchell.
And this is from entry 15.
And it's at the bottom.
Do you have the patience to wait?
Your mud settles and the water is clear.
Can you remain unmoving?
Till the right action arises by itself.
The master doesn't seek fulfillment.
Not seeking.
Not expecting.
She is present and can welcome all things.
I'm going to read it one more time.
And then we can.
Dip into silence.
Do you have the patience to wait till your mud settles and the water is clear?
Can you remain unmoving?
Till the right action arises by itself.
The master doesn't seek fulfillment.
Not seeking.
Not expecting,
She is present and can welcome all things.
The master doesn't seek fulfillment.
She is present and can welcome all things.
As soon as we went into stillness and silence,
I noticed that my fireplace was making noise.
And had the thought,
I wish it wasn't making noise.
What if someone?
Listens to this and and then they comment that they were annoyed at the noise and I just thought home.
She is present and can welcome all things and just put it down.
Not seeking.
Not expecting.
She is present and can welcome all things.
I hope you can bring this into your day today.
Notice when you are seeking,
When you are expecting,
When you are looking for fulfillment.
Just notice with self-compassion.
With non-judgmental awareness.
Can I be open to all things?
Can I accept all things?
And I'll see you next time.
