Welcome to this mindfulness meditation practice as we continue our journey through the elements having connected to feeling grounded with earth,
Fluid with water,
Filled with joy,
Glowing from our fire element.
Now we come to air and can allow ourselves to soften and to float,
To connect to a lightness,
Clarity,
Subtlety in the body and the breath and state of mind.
Air element seated in heart chakra anahata.
So as you settle into your seat and into your breath you might become entirely present with the subtle power of your breath.
Feel soft cool of air in your nostrils followed by expansion of your ribcage and following warmth of breath back out through your nose.
Time to notice subtle changes in temperature or even intensity of your breath.
Your breath as a bridge between your body and the world around you.
The bridge between your inner world and your outer world.
Your breath as an exchange with the natural world,
With trees,
With plants,
With flowers,
With grasses.
Breath and air as life force.
Each breath an exchange of air energy of life force with the natural world around you.
As though each breath brings you into greater harmony with the natural world and with the elements around you.
Through this simple exchange of breath.
Some time to wonder at the simplicity of this exchange.
Notice the subtle magic your breath and the life force moving within your body.
Exchanging with the whole world around you.
Life force of air element invisible.
Yet it nourishes us through each breath.
Life force or prana or chi enters the body with the breath.
And we're able to direct that life force,
That energy,
Prana,
Chi through the body via the bridge of your awareness.
Focus your attention into the heart space.
Directing breath,
Prana,
Chi,
Life force into the space of the heart.
Seat of Anahata chakra.
The radiance of each breath filling heart space.
The massage of the heart by the lungs.
And imagine a green glow radiating from your heart.
Feeling your ribcage.
Feeling the whole of your body.
Subtle glow.
It brings a sense of delight,
Of wonder for the simple,
Subtle magic of your breath.
And glow arising from heart space to face.
And softness of a smile and appreciation of breath.
Into lips,
Into corner of eyes.
Sense of a smile in space of heart.
Noticing sense of delight.
Wonder in the smallest of moments if we're able to enter them in full awareness and in mindful presence.
Delighted in your heart space.
An open heart and a quiet mind.
Dusk in the glow and the delight radiating from your heart.
Filling the whole of your body.
Floating away on the winds of delight.
Delight,
Wonder,
Love.
It's an expansion,
Filling of the heart.
So full that delight and love spread outwards on the exchange of your breath.
A glow and an exchange that encompasses that which is easy to love and that which is not so easy to love.
In the words of Ram Dass,
You start to love that which you can love and just keep expanding.
Subtle power of your breath.
Small miracles,
Expansion of the heart.
An affirmation you could take with you into your day.
Today I seek small miracles.
Each decision and each action I make expands or contracts and today in each decision I make I choose to expand.
Perhaps you seek out small delights,
Small wonders as you move through your day.
And notice that subtle flutter of delight in the space of your heart.
