The second in a five part series of mindfulness meditation practices on the theme of the elements. Flowing through the elemental chart to the water element, seat of the sacral chakra, inviting an energy of flow and ease. This practice involves mindful breathing, visualization and affirmation, allowing you to observe waves of breath, and in turn to observe waves of life without resistance. Thank you for taking the time to practice with me.

Transcript

Welcome to this mindfulness meditation as we continue to move through the elemental charts to the water element today,

The seat of our sacral chakra,

Svadhisthana.

Time to arrive and find your comfortable seat or lying down if you prefer.

These moments to arrive into your body,

Arrive into the flow of your breath.

Once you get here,

Take time to adjust what you need to so that you can remain still.

You can connect to a steadiness as you feel yourself rooted and draw in and out a few deeper breaths.

Settling,

Arriving,

Arriving.

And then allow your breath to find its way to its natural flow.

We will begin our practice by simply observing that flow for a few moments.

Your breath rising on the inhale,

Crawling on the exhale with a wave,

Following the rise to the peak and then the crumble away.

There's no need to control or adjust your breath,

Simply allow breath to flow.

One breath to the next,

Rise and fall,

Air and flow.

If mind begins to wander,

Simply draw it back.

Breath like an anchor for your attention.

You can begin to notice a breath circulating through the body like a river of awareness.

You can follow the tension of your breath down into the bowl of your pelvis,

The seat of your Svadhisthana Chakra,

Your Sacral Chakra,

The energy center of the body associated with freedom and flow and creativity,

Feeling unstuck,

Fluid.

You can imagine a drop of warm orange light within the bowl of the pelvis.

And with each breath as though that glow flows outwards from that point.

So you could feel those waves of your breath moving around the bowl of the pelvis and around the whole of your body.

It's ease and flow of breath washing its way into state of mind.

Thoughts like ripples move outwards to the shore,

Leaving behind calm,

Still waters of the mind.

We can imagine qualities of water like a river in our headspace.

Thoughts,

Emotions,

Ideas,

Feelings,

Memories,

Mind activity that flows through our consciousness as a river flows downstream.

If we try to stop the flow,

We meet resistance.

If we try to follow the flow,

We get swept up and washed downstream,

No longer present.

Through our mindfulness practice,

We have the opportunity to open up to absorb the flow of the river from the bank under the sunlight of your own awareness.

Sometimes the river will flow fast.

Thoughts,

Ideas,

Memories,

Streaming past rather than getting washed away.

Can you remain on the bank?

Observe the flow.

Perhaps over time the river begins to run calmer.

Perhaps water becomes clearer.

Murky waters can settle.

So just enjoy some time on the riverbank of your awareness.

Observe the flow of your breath,

Your thoughts,

Of your life.

As you prepare to move back into the right direction,

For the rest of your day,

You might notice the ripple effect of this practice.

Perhaps becoming more conscious of anywhere that you're trying to divert the flow of life.

Is there anywhere that you can yield?

Linguish,

Grasping.

Follow the flow of your breath,

The natural flow of life.

An affirmation that you could take with you into the rest of your day could be,

I am open to the flow of life and all its possibilities.

Allow those words to wash through you.

Whenever you're ready,

You can softly blink eyes open.

Enjoy following the flow of your breathing,

Those waves of breath.

Come back to those waves whenever you need to throughout your day.

Thank you so much for joining me.

Have a beautiful day.
